REVIEW: HIS SECRETS BY LISA RENEE JONES (AN INSIDE OUT NOVELLA #3.1)

An Inside Out story, Chris's POV

In a world where my only escape has been my art, Sara has been the light in my darkness. And there is darkness, the kind of inky black that can bleed from my life to hers.

She doesn't see it. She doesn't understand what I've shown her. And my biggest fear is that soon...she will.

OUR REVIEW:

I'm pretty sure I can speak for both of us when I say that we've been so very curious about what Chris has been thinking during this entire series and this quick novella answers my need to know. I'll admit that in the previous books we've read I've felt a range of emotions regarding his character. This novella left me feeling more and more like I like him. The concern he felt for Sara and the love he has for her felt genuine and less yo-yo-like than I'd felt in the last book.
I think we desperately needed this installment, after finishing Revealing Us. Why? It explained and showed us so much more about Chris and Ava and Isobel, and even Tristan than we understood from the small amount he told us at the end of the third book. We needed to see that incredibly wrenching scene play out...and I think you will appreciate and love it if you are a fan or a newbie to the series alike. It hurt. It was emotional. And I think Sara has the patience of a saint with putting up with these crazy rich people...but I love most of them all the same.

Not only did I feel like we received insight into his feelings for Sara but also more insight in to Amber, Tristan, and Isabel. This also was helpful and made me feel less sketchy about his past. Agreed.
Of course..there's a cliffhanger...GAH..but that's okay, the next one comes out this month! Hello Mark Compton! Mark seriously always comes in right at the end of these novellas, ups the fucking ante, and then skitters away while we're left waiting for the next one with bated breath. OMG. Mark, Mark, Mark. We need to know A LOT more about Mark! I love him even when I hate him the most, and I don't know why!
Happy reading; we hope you're enjoying this series as much as we are. Yes, yes. Have I mentioned yet how much I can't wait until this is a TV SERIES!
