REVIEW: Tripping on a Halo by Alessandra Torre

Court: To say that we've loved Alessandra Torre for a long time feels like an understatement at this point...but here we are doing it anyway! This book was a breath of fresh air and if you're looking for something that has hilarious shenanigans and a little more under the surface than it seems then this is the book for you. Shel: Yes--so light-hearted and then packs an emotional punch when you least suspect it!

"It’s really hard to save a guy’s life when he keeps running from you." - Autumn

Court:  Autumn as a main character is absolutely hilarious. She is funny and legit has this idea that her sole mission in life is to save Declan Moss from mortal peril. Shel: When I figured out what was going on I cracked up! Being in her head is an interesting experience (understatement of the year), and as you read and get intel from her conversations with her sister (and brother in law Roger...he's hilarious, too!) and therapist you see that this is where things get a little twisted. Her perception is not reality...but goodness, between plane crashes and a trash switcheroo we wonder along with Declan...why him! Then...we get the added bonus of having Declan's point of view (swoon!), and along with Nate and Nate's sister we get a delightful birds eye view to how this whole story is going to shake out. Nate and his sister was the perfect touch--I imagined them both with a devilish gleam in their eyes--they were so fun loving and hilarious.

Court: As always, Alessandra's writing abilities are on point...she is like a fine wine that just keeps getting better and better. The dialogue is witty and funny, but also life affirming and deep at the same time. This isn't a suspense we're used to getting from her, but this was an escape that I will be coming back to again and again.  Shel: I agree. Alessandra has written so much at this point that she's really written something for everyone, inside and outside of the romance community. And just when you think you've got her narrowed down to one genre or sub-genre, she does something new and different. It's one of the reasons I really enjoy her work--I know that I'll like her style and that she'll give me something I wasn't expecting.

If you loved her novel, Hollywood Dirt, we think you'll really enjoy the humor, quirkiness, and sweet romance in Tripping on a Halo.

It’s really hard to save a guy’s life when he keeps running from you.
You might be asking yourself why I’m waving an inflatable penis in the air and screaming at the top of my lungs. If I took time to explain, Declan Moss would get hit by a bus.
Let me back up. I didn’t ask for this. I was perfectly happy—and perfectly sane—before I stumbled into the role of Declan’s guardian angel. It was a thankless job until the moment that my panties dropped and his delicious smirk found his way in between my thighs.
Hello, toe-curling ecstasy. Goodbye, professional boundaries. And suddenly, there’s a new danger to avoid: the falling of my heart.

REVIEW: Fight or Flight by Samantha Young

Shel: I loved this novel; it was the perfect distraction from the gazillion research papers I need to grade and all of the other responsibilities that my weekends usually require...I mean really, who needs clean laundry or food to eat?!!

Court: *raises hand* I got on board with that endorsement, and was not disappointed. Samantha Young has been a favorite of ours for a long, long time...and this book is first off fun, sexy and deep and then makes way for people acting like *gasp* adults and going through some heavy stuff but finding their way by navigating with open minds and open communication...most of the time, anyway!

Shel: This novel reminded me of  the first things I ever read of Samantha Young--On Dublin Street --a more grown up, set in America, less tortured soul version. Caleb Scott was the most delicious alpha male (and to be fair had a mild case of tortured soul syndrome but I loved that about him!) and Ava Breevort was the perfect counterpart--strong and unwilling to stand for bullshit; I loved them together. Their enemies to lovers was so much fun to read and I found myself getting caught up in their backstories and their foolish pact, that let's face it, we all knew was bound to blow up. I loved how they ended up together at the end and what it took to get them there and I'm very, very selfishly hoping that this novel turns into the first of many spin-offs!

Court: How they met was a fairytale...but everything that came after was delightful to read. Secondary characters really helped round out this stories plot and like Shel said...hopefully will make way for more books set in this world. I did tear up (because don't I always) but I think this is a book for everyone because don't we all need to be reminded that we are all beautiful in our own right...and other's don't deserve the opportunity or power to make us think otherwise!

A series of chance encounters leads to a sizzling new romance from the New York Timesbestselling author of the On Dublin Street series.

The universe is conspiring against Ava Breevort. As if flying back to Phoenix to bury a childhood friend wasn't hell enough, a cloud of volcanic ash traveling from overseas delayed her flight back home to Boston. Her last ditch attempt to salvage the trip was thwarted by an arrogant Scotsman, Caleb Scott, who steals a first class seat out from under her. Then over the course of their journey home, their antagonism somehow lands them in bed for the steamiest layover Ava's ever had. And that's all it was--until Caleb shows up on her doorstep.

When pure chance pulls Ava back into Caleb's orbit, he proposes they enjoy their physical connection while he's stranded in Boston. Ava agrees, knowing her heart's in no danger since a) she barely likes Caleb and b) his existence in her life is temporary. Not long thereafter Ava realizes she's made a terrible error because as it turns out Caleb Scott isn't quite so unlikeable after all. When his stay in Boston becomes permanent, Ava must decide whether to fight her feelings for him or give into them. But even if she does decide to risk her heart on Caleb, there is no guarantee her stubborn Scot will want to risk his heart on her....

The Waiting Series by Ginger Scott has a new look! One-Click this amazing series today! The third book in the series releases in January!

Start with Waiting on the Sidelines here-
Going Long is book 2, and find it here -

Waiting on the Sidelines:

Nolan Lennox had things figured out. Named after a baseball legend, she enjoyed being the Tomboy, her closet filled with her brother’s hand-me-downs, cut-off jeans and soccer shorts. But when her first trip to high school results in a broken heart from the first boy to ever make her heart flutter and cruel words from an older girl she once thought a family friend, Nolan starts to question the very person she thought she was and wonders if her humble upbringing can compete with the afforded luxuries of her privileged peers.

Throughout the next four years, Nolan struggles to maintain herself throughout her path of discovery, learning just how cruel teenagers can be through the pressures of underage drinking, sexuality and class. And despite how life seems to continue to work against her, she still manages to listen to her heart, falling deeper and deeper for the guy the entire town adores, even if he only sees her as a friend. Can Nolan strike a compromise between her own integrity and the boy she loves? And can she make him notice her before it’s too late?

Reed Johnson came to Coolidge High School with a lot of fanfare. The son of a hometown football legend and the brother of a local football hero, Reed wore all the pressures of carrying a town without hope into the spotlight. Thankfully, he had the talent to back it up. But when he meets a girl who makes him think twice about exactly what being a hero means, he starts to wonder if following in his brother’s footsteps might be all wrong.

Nolan Lennox was everything that was opposite of expected. She didn’t flirt, she didn’t drink and she didn’t sleep around. Nothing about her was easy, but something about her made Reed want to try harder. Though she didn’t look the part, she seemed to be spending a lot of time in Reed’s thoughts, and he wondered if she could be the one who made it all worthwhile. But could Reed handle letting her down? And would breaking her heart break him beyond repair?

Waiting on the Sidelines explores young love to its fullest, exposing how real young heartbreak and passion is and how important it is to discover yourself and hold onto your own identity. The story follows two young characters as they deal with mature situations, including the prevalence of bullying and promiscuity in today’s high school setting. Ultimately, Waiting on the Sidelines is a story of hope, honesty and those powerful, first true loves—the ones worth holding onto at any cost.

Going Long:

They fell in love in high school and found their way back to one another despite the odds. But can first loves really be forever? For Reed Johnson, the dream was always football. But then Nolan Lennox took over his heart. Is he willing to give up his first love just to keep his true love? Or will he be too late?

Reed and Nolan’s story continues in "Going Long," sequel to "Waiting on the Sidelines."

The Hail Mary by Ginger Scott
Adult Contemporary Romance
Release day: January 18, 2019

The Hail Mary
Waiting Series Book 3
Adult Contemporary Romance, Coming of Age Trilogy

Sixteen years is a long time. In a marriage, it’s a milestone. On the gridiron, it’s a miracle. Reed Johnson wants more time for everything, but time is funny that way.

It can be cruel.

With a body that can’t quite take the hits it used to and a heart tired of being torn in two different directions, Reed is faced with a reality he’s not quite ready for—life without the game. He became a man under Friday night game lights and in college stadium tunnels, and without the grit and the glory that’s earned ten yards at a time, he’s afraid of what kind of man he’ll be.

But there’s more than a game at stake now.

Reed’s wife, Nolan, is afraid too. She’s seen what can happen when the love of her life pushes himself too hard, and she can’t escape the nightmares she relives after almost losing her entire world to one single play on the field.

There is no compromise when it comes to football. Same goes for the heart. You’re either all in, or you get crushed. For Reed and Nolan, the clock is ticking down. Time…it does that. One way or another, they’re going to have to make a choice.

This is their hail Mary.

This is win or lose.

(The Hail Mary is book 3 in The Waiting Series, which follows high school sweethearts Reed Johnson and Nolan Lennox through football, life, love and everything messy that goes along with it. The series begins with Waiting on the Sidelines and Going Long.)

REVIEW: My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren

Shel: Anytime I lucky enough to get an ARC of a Christina Lauren novel, I die. Then, when I resurrect myself I make sure I find the perfect reading spot in my schedule so that I can savor the reading experience I know I'm going to have. Court: What she said. This duo is always give us a very fun reading experience...and their writing is just too good to pass up!

Shel: My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren was what I can count on Christina Lauren to give me--lots of laughing and swoony romance. I went into this particular novel blind and was surprised at how women's lit-y it felt, not in a bad way at all. These writers tackled some issues that I feel like many older young adults are experiencing and really made me think about how different the dating world probably is for those way younger than me. I also appreciated the familial issues that came with these characters--it added even more depth (and, at times, humor) to Millie and Reid. And kudos to this writing duo for making me crack up laughing in the midst of breaking and mending my heart. Court: Right? I fell in love with this group of friends...and went from thinking this is a light-hearted a very deep and meaningful friends to lovers to what is next romance. I loved their online chats, their texts, their getting together. These people mean a lot to each other, and then I became even more scared of what would happen if things did not work out like I hoped. I felt a lot of angst and scared but I will tell you that I could not put this book down! Modern dating does sound like a scary place...and it gives an insightful look at deep and meaningful emotional relationships and really how good it feels to have people who have your back.

Shel: I so enjoy reading their novels and am looking forward to what they release next. Court: I don't think we will...but it would be nice to get an Alex book from these characters!

By the New York Times bestselling author who “hilariously depicts modern dating” (Us Weekly), My Favorite Half-Night Stand is a laugh-out-loud romp through online dating and its many, many fails.

Millie Morris has always been one of the guys. A UC Santa Barbara professor, she’s a female-serial-killer expert who’s quick with a deflection joke and terrible at getting personal. And she, just like her four best guy friends and fellow professors, is perma-single.

So when a routine university function turns into a black tie gala, Mille and her circle make a pact that they’ll join an online dating service to find plus-ones for the event. There’s only one hitch: after making the pact, Millie and one of the guys, Reid Campbell, secretly spend the sexiest half-night of their lives together, but mutually decide the friendship would be better off strictly platonic.

But online dating isn’t for the faint of heart. While the guys are inundated with quality matches and potential dates, Millie’s first profile attempt garners nothing but dick pics and creepers. Enter “Catherine”—Millie’s fictional profile persona, in whose make-believe shoes she can be more vulnerable than she’s ever been in person. Soon “Catherine” and Reid strike up a digital pen-pal-ship...but Millie can’t resist temptation in real life, either. Soon, Millie will have to face her worst fear—intimacy—or risk losing her best friend, forever.

Perfect for fans of Roxanne and She’s the Man, Christina Lauren’s latest romantic comedy is full of mistaken identities, hijinks, and a classic love story with a modern twist. Funny and fresh, you’ll want to swipe right on My Favorite Half-Night Stand.

REVIEW: Consumed by J.R. Ward

Shel: This is the first J.R. Ward novel I've read, which I know is probably scandalous or crazy in this day and age but truth be told the sheer number of books in her most popular series was intimidating and when Consumed came along and I could start at the beginning of something new, I decided to jump at the opportunity. I'm glad I did because now I know what I've been missing. Court: That's where I've been...except I bought the whole Black Dagger Brotherhood series once when it was on sale. I had heard how amazing her writing was, but I was nervous that it would be all of the hype and then I would no longer be blissfully ignorant with like 12 books that I bought...

Anyways, I am blown away by how amazing J.R. Ward is...she can write a book, y'all.

Shel: Consumed is a mix of drama and thriller and romance--there's a lot going on, in a good way. Ward spends a good part of the novel really laying the groundwork for what I think is going to be a several book series. A few of the main characters are really fully developed (Anne and Danny) and many characters are built up enough that it's evident that they'll be in line for a book or have a large part to play in coming books. Court: I thought so too. We get multiple point of views, and it really is fleshed out in a way that this is a family that I feel we now know. I cannot wait for what comes next, because along with the characters we had a lot of action with the details of the work of  a firefighter and it was exhilarating action from the very beginning.

Shel: I enjoyed the suspense of it and was genuinely surprised at who the "deadly killer" was, though I must admit I feel like there has to be more information coming, right? That part felt a bit rushed and like there are several bits of information that HAVE TO BE coming in the upcoming books--I just hope we aren't strung along for a long time only to be told something wildly mundane...or outlandish, I like these characters and want the answers to fit the narrative. Court: That dangling thread was there for you too, huh? Yes. There is some need to know information that of course I wanted right now! Alas, we didn't get it. Since we now know Ann Ashburn intimately though, we know she isn't one to let things we know she'll always be working to figure it all out in her new job as a arson investigator. (I really liked this aspect of the story as well).

Shel: Even with my slight dissatisfaction at having to wait until the next one comes out, I was wholly satisfied with the way Anne and Danny's part of the story got resolved and am looking forward to where this series goes next. Court: Me too. I could not put this book down, honestly, and I highly recommend it!

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the popular Black Dagger Brotherhood series comes a brand-new novel about arson investigator, Ann Ashburn, who is consumed by her troubled past, her family’s scorched legacy, and her current case: chasing a deadly killer.

Anne Ashburn is a woman consumed...

By her bitter family legacy, by her scorched career as a firefighter, by her obsession with department bad-boy Danny McGuire, and by a new case that pits her against a fiery killer.

Strong-willed Anne was fearless and loved the thrill of fighting fires, pushing herself to be the best. But when one risky decision at a warehouse fire changes her life forever, Anne must reinvent not only her job, but her whole self.

Shattered and demoralized, Anne finds her new career as an arson investigator a pale substitute for the adrenaline-fueled life she left behind. She doesn't believe she will ever feel that same all-consuming passion for her job again--until she encounters a string of suspicious fires setting her beloved city ablaze.

Danny McGuire is a premiere fireman, best in the county, but in the midst of a personal meltdown. Danny is taking risks like never before and seems to have a death wish until he teams up with Anne to find the fire starter. But Danny may be more than a distraction, and as Anne narrows in on her target, the arsonist begins to target her.

From the creator of the bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood, get ready for a new band of brothers. And a firestorm.

REVIEW: Sacred Sins by C.D. Reiss

sins duet back up FB banner .jpg

“Deliciously shocking.” ―Laurelin Paige, New York Times Bestselling Author

Sacred Sins, the stunning conclusion to the Sins Duet by New York Times bestselling author CD Reiss, is LIVE!

I will never underestimate CD Reiss; I know going into any of her novels to expect the unexpected. Yet even knowing that, she gets me every time. I always end up with a racing heart, a need to take a breather for self preservation, and an even more driving need to power through the angsty bits to see what the hell is going to happen with the characters. And while I knew, in this particular case, what was happening or had happened to quite a few of the characters, I had no idea what was going to happen with Margie. All I knew was that I felt an intense amount of foreboding and melancholy as the plot continued to quicken its pace—emotions that couldn’t quite be soothed even when things seemed to be looking up (with good reason, since Reiss always saves a few gut punches for that last 15-20%).

For those who haven’t read any of the Drazen books, you’ll find this duet to be interesting and entertaining (and you’ll probably want to go back and read them all—trust me, you will. Even with some plot points revealed here there are so many things you don’t know yet). For those of you who have read them, you’ll bring an added depth of understanding to what’s happening—and even though you know some things, there are many things you will discover along the way.

Coming back to the crazy Drazen clan has been ...interesting and intense and reminds me of those early days of Reiss reading, when I didn’t know how maniacal she can be to her characters. And now, of course, I cannot wait to see what she does with the remaining Drazens.

You know what they say about family.
Blood is thicker than water.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
A house divided cannot stand.
Margie is the keeper of her family’s secrets.
Six sisters and one brother.
Billions in assets.
Generations of malfeasance.
And one heartbreaking secret kept by three people.
Her father, Declan.
And Drew—the man she loves.
You know what they say about secrets.
Three can keep them if two are Drazens.
There's never been a Drazen who went down without a fight. And there's never been one who didn't fight for love.

About CD Reiss
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. REVIEW: 4th and Girl by Max Monroe

From the New York Times bestselling author of Tapping the Billionaire comes a hilarious and sexy standalone about fate, chance, and one heck of an epically awkward meet-cute.

4th & Girl, an all-new standalone romantic comedy in the Mavericks Tackle Love series from Max Monroe, is available now!

Our Review:

I've really enjoyed this series and I'm sad to see it go. The banter between the players is hysterical and the scenes on the field and when they're "at work" give it that sense that you're peeking behind the curtain and seeing a behind the scenes look at what it's like when they're not on the field--a fictional look, but still lends that extra added oomph to an already fun novel. In 4th and Girl, not only do we have the fun banter between players, but we also get the hilarious Alma, the funny meet cute with Leo and Gemma, the omnipresent Abby, and the sweetest romance in the series. Seriously, Leo is to die for --Max Monroe hit all the hot points: football player, intelligence, and a scene with sweatpants and glasses annnd he knows how to have fun?!?!?! Gahhh. And Gemma matches him with all that and more. I honestly had my doubts about how they were going to write a conflict for these two because they were so dang nice, but never fear, where there is a will, there is a way and there was a conflict that made me want to face palm one of these characters. Fortunately, the ending more than made up for the conflict and an HEA was had by all.

If you're hoping for a meaty, emotional roller coaster, this is not the book for you. This is a lighthearted, quick and easy read--perfect for a day when you want to escape into something that's not heavy, maybe even for after you've read one of those heavy, heartbreaking reads. 4th and Girl will make you smile and melt at the sweetness of Leo and Gemma.

4th and Girl is the last in series and while we're sad to see these characters go, we hope they'll pop up in some of the most unexpected places.

I’m Leo Landry, one of the best shutdown cornerbacks in the nation, and the New York Mavericks’ first round draft pick.
If James Bond spent his days running drills and his nights shutting out quarterbacks, he’d dream about being me. But professional football is on a whole other level from college, and as the new guy, I’ve got everything to prove.
No problem.
All I’ve got to do is focus, right?
Too bad life’s got other plans.
Blond hair, long lashes, and criminal blue eyes, there’s a pint-sized bombshell that I can’t stop thinking about.
I don’t even know her name, but she’s completely screwing up my game plan.
It’s too late to turn back now though. I have my eye on the prize, and I won’t settle for anything less.
4th down and only one goal in my sightsthis pretty little mystery girl.
Good thing I’m at my best when the pressure’s on.

REVIEW: Do You Feel It Too by Nicola Rendell

Do You Feel It Too? By Nicola Rendell Release Date: November 20th

Do You Feel It Too? is funny, sexy, romantic, and a fantastic way to spend a chilly weekend—it’ll definitely warm you right up. The characters, Gabe and Lily, are so much fun to read. He’s just absolutely hilarious (chapter 29 will have you laughing until you cry) —the things he says and thinks just cracked me up—and the way he feels about Lily made me want to melt. And Lily and the General were also funny and just so sweet, really the perfect mate for Gabe. Also of note was the palpable sexual tension that seemed to throb off about 90% of the pages; the chemistry between these two was *fans self* hot hot hot.

As with every single Nicola Rendell novel, I know that the minute I pick up her latest novel, I will:

not want it to put it down,
laugh until I cry,
get all starry eyed at the romance,
not want It to be over when the last page is finished.

I try and fail to have a list of my top favorites of hers and it’s impossible—they all have her trademark humor, romance, and sexiness and yet they all have something very unique. You always know that when you pick up her novels you’ll be guaranteed a good time.

Do You Feel It Too? will have you wanting to visit Savannah looking for ghosts, quirky locals, and delicious food and hoping to be swept off your feet just like Gabe and Lily were.

BLURB A hot summer night is perfect for feeling your way in the dark…
For urban-legend hunter and television host Gabe Powers, it’s business—investigate the most notorious haunted places in Savannah. Then he meets his new sound engineer, a dewy Georgia peach who may just turn this gig into (im)pure pleasure. All it takes is one night for them to conjure floor-rattling, wall-banging moans…but they’re not from the ghosts.
Blame the rippling abs, the cocky swagger, the granite jawline, the whole muscle-bulging package, but Gabe is bringing out good-girl Lily Jameson’s dirty side. Damn her code-of-conduct contract—this isn’t just a molten-hot fling.
There’s just one kink in the relationship they’ve been avoiding: soon they’ll be going their separate ways. Lily’s home is in Savannah, and Gabe is a globe-trotter at heart. For them to be together, they’ll both have to upend their so-very-different worlds and face their fears in the process. And suddenly things don’t feel so Georgia peachy keen at all.

EXCERPT He wrapped his arms around me, sliding one hand up along the back of my neck to keep me close. Running his thumb down my cheek, he held my hair back from my face. The laughter and playfulness were gone. Now he was back where I’d seen him in the bedroom. Greedy and serious. His palm grasped my tush in a delightfully possessive way. “Ouija speaks the truth. I do want you. So bad.”
“Me too,” I whispered back, but then I realized how confusing that sounded. “I mean, I want you. Not I want—”
He kissed me to shut me up. His hands gripped my body, and his tongue swept mine aside. Straddling him on my knees on the sofa, I felt him hard underneath me. I tipped my hips into him, with nothing but my panties and his chinos between us. This kiss was different than the one in the bedroom earlier. This was like a slow drizzle of caramel all through me. Just as the room began to spin, and just as I started to reach for his belt, he broke us apart, pulling my head back slightly with his fingers knotted into my hair. He nudged my cheek with his nose and said, “I’m gonna take you upstairs, Lily. And rock your fucking world.”

REVIEW: Secret Sins by C.D. Reiss

You know, the Drazens are where it all started for us and our C.D. Reiss love affair and here we are again, with another Drazen story. It's been a while, or so it seems, and being back in their world again makes me want to deep dive all the way to the very beginning--to Beg.

In Margie's book, Secret Sins, I was surprised at how much melancholy I felt running through it. In other Drazen books I've been dazzled by the angst and twists and high drama and sex so I think I thought this novel would fall into a similar path; and sure, it has all of the things the other novels have, it also has this tinge of melancholy.

I liked it. I liked that Margie is so fiesty and messed up and that all the 80s and 90s references are accurate and throw me in the way back machine. I like the way the story bounces between the two time frames while also building to that intense chapter. And I really like that the next book is coming our way soon.

There were three of us.

Strat. A rock god who walked on air.
Indy. A handsome musician smart enough to live through stardom.
Me, a girl with everything to lose and nothing she wanted to keep.

I loved them both.
They say three's a crowd, but maybe I liked crowds...until the one thing I wanted to keep was stolen out of my arms.

I left that world, straightened up, went to law school.
I was fine until Indy walked back into my life to remind me of what I'd lost.
They say there's no time like the present, but when the past shows up with an invoice there's gonna be hell to pay.

EXCERPT Halfway up the steps, I slid my hand around her waist from behind. She stopped and I took one more step up so my hips were even with hers. I was rock hard in my pants, and I let her feel it between her ass cheeks. She groaned and held on to the railing more tightly. White knuckles. Fuck yes.
“You’re going to need to keep doing that,” I told her as I sheltered her with my body, the curve of my abs and chest pressed against her back. I slid my hand up to her tits and pinched her nipple through her dress.
“Keep doing what?” she asked. Her voice was thick with heat and desire. Not so soft and gentle anymore. I placed my hand over hers on the banister. “Keep hanging on tight.”
She let her head drop down, and I swept her hair over one shoulder. I placed my lips at the curve where her neck met her shoulder and looked down into her cleavage. I was torn—part of me wanted to ravage her, part of me wanted to worship her.
There was plenty of time for both.
I undid her delicate zipper tooth by tooth. It sounded every bit as good as I’d imagined it would. She was holding her breath as I did it, tipping her head to the side to get me to keep kissing her. Fuck knew I wanted to. But I needed her to know that this wasn’t going to be all tenderness either, and I needed there to be no doubt that no matter how bad I wanted her, I was the one running this show. Once I had her zipper undone, I hiked her dress up and yanked her hips back into mine, making her gasp. The ripples of the impact made her ass tremble. She bent forward as her dress slid from her shoulders. She supported herself with her palms on the stairs, her fingertips on the edge of the step. Her dress slid off her into a flowery circle at her feet, revealing a black thong. With a tiny red bow that I hadn’t been able to see earlier.
“I’m keeping these.”
