To Have and To Hold by Ketley Allison

Ketley Allison is back from a hiatus and she hit it out of the ballpark with To Have and To Hold.

We've always enjoyed her novels because they have such a nice mix of romance and suspense--she knows exactly how to have your turning the next page and keep you on your toes. To Have and To Hold elevated all of that a thousandfold. The suspense of trying to put all the pieces together--who took Emme and why--had me guessing until the very last 15% of the novel. I found myself trying to out-sleuth the sleuth.

In addition to the suspense aspects, she created a connection between Spence and Emme that not only drove the novel, it drove the characters to do almost superhuman things to try to end the nightmare of the kidnapping. My only wish is that we knew more about what, exactly, happened to Spence to push him to sever their ties. What the heck happened to him in his younger days that made him so protective of his heart?!

Ketley Allison's use of creep details and her understanding of how law and order work, combined with the suspenseful plot, has me eager to see what she'll write next.

BUY IT on Amazon.

He was my true love. Now, he's my only hope.

Spence was the one, my only free fall, my terrible heartache.

Me: shy, quiet, nervous.

Him: outgoing, intimidating, and wild, all the things I wasn't.

Such catastrophic connection couldn't last. We split apart--not separated, because that word is so gentle and we cracked in half--and I haven't seen him in two and a half years.

We aren't the same; we never were. I made it almost three years without him, I could make it longer.

I became, in one word, happy.

But then...

I was kidnapped.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD is Ketley Allison's stunning new standalone novel that combines the heartwarming chance of finding lost love with the terrifying concept of being taken against your will. This thriller will heat you all the way through, then chill you to the bone.

About the Author:
Jodi Ellen Malpas wrote her debut series, The This Man Trilogy, in secret, worried about what people might think if they knew what her imagination was capable of. She was shocked herself. But she finally found the courage to unleash her creative streak and self-published THIS MAN – the first book of the This Man Trilogy – in October 2012. She took a chance on the story with a hero who soon became one of modern day fictions most prolific alpha male characters. Jesse Ward – also affectionately known as The Lord of The Manor, sparked incredible reactions from women across the globe and catapulted Jodi into the world of women’s fiction. Jodi went on to self-publish the second book in the trilogy, Beneath This Man in Jan 2013, just before Grand Central Publishing, part of the Hachette Book Group, picked up the popular trilogy and the unknown Jodi. The third book of the trilogy, This Man Confessed, took Jodi to the top of the bestsellers lists, earning her the proud title of #1 New York Times Bestselling Author. This Man has since been voted one of the top romance novels of all time. THE FORBIDDEN, is set for release in August 2017. Her work is now published in over 24 languages across the world. Jodi was born and raised in the Midlands town of Northampton, England, where she lives with her two boys and a beagle. She is a self-professed daydreamer, a mojito addict, is famous for her obsession with Converse, and has a terrible weak spot for Alpha Males. Writing powerful love stories and creating addictive characters has become her passion – a passion she now shares with her devoted readers.

REVIEW: + EXCERPT: Confessions:Robbie by Ella Frank

Confessions: Robbie, an all new tantalizing contemporary MMM Romance by Ella Frank is available NOW!

Robbie-Confessions-PRINT-FOR-WEB copy.jpeg

Our Review
Shel: Ella Frank!
I don't know where to start. The ending or the beginning?!?!?!
That ending! I'm curious. So very curious about alllll the things when it comes to these men, but Priest and Julien have me dying of curiosity--I can't wait to know more. Court: Amen! Ella Frank has been teasing us right to the edge of insanity for so long...and it is a trip we willingly take again and again!

Shel: Now that I got that out of the way, let me say that I love that we're getting this set of stories. At the end of Tate and Logan's True I was completely taken with the idea of this story and the way you built it up and teased and pulled me in is so classic Ella Frank 101. You had me laughing and swooning and DYING for action between these three. And to be honest, I wasn't so sure at first that I'd feel this way at the end. I was worried that Robbie was more of an idea or a plaything at first and that he'd be more of a prop for them, rather than an equal partner--and while he's not up to speed, yet, simply because of his lack of time and experiences with them,  it's evident that the end game is for him to be that; I just hope no one gets hurt along the way. Because you totally sucked me in and I love the idea of them and hope that all obstacles are cleared and all systems are go when it comes to these three. Court: I feel like that too. I feel that maybe someday along the way we'll get the result we want...but there will be some cleverly placed twists and trials along the way that will give us palpitations. Ella Frank is the master at giving us suspense, love, heart racing sexy scenes and also giving such a well plotted out story and this time is no different. Her characters have heart. They're realistic in that we might want to be friends with them, and we hurt with them and laugh and have joy with them too. I am so *nervous* with what is to come, but so excited!!!

Shel: You've convinced me that the impossible is possible--that there's a chance that three can be better than two. And I'm no fool, I know the bad stuff is coming, I'm holding out hope that you'll more than make up for it with the good stuff! Court: HAHA! See...it'll happen. We'll be ready like holding your breath before you go over the hill of a roller coaster, but our hands will be up the entire time!

Relationships are complex.
Love ever-changing.
And when it comes to rules of the heart,
they were made to be broken…
That’s what Robert Antonio Bianchi was telling himself, anyway.
Otherwise, he really had no excuse for what—or who—he’d done.
No excuse, except for his lonely heart, a pitcher of margaritas, four Bitter Bitches, and the apparent need to confess all his weaknesses to the two men he knew would bring him nothing but trouble.
But trouble was nothing new.
Just ask his crazy sisters or any of his friends, and they’d be the first to tell you:
If there was a bad decision to be made, Robbie always had a knack for making it.
And thus begins the story of the priest, the princess, and the prick.

If there’s a bad decision to make, I will make it. DRUNK-DIALING IS never a smart move. But drunk-dialing a married man? That is a monumentally stupid move. That was the thought rolling around Robbie’s muddled brain as he stood with his best friend Elliot at the bar of CRUSH and tossed back his fourth Bitter Bitch. The conversation he was having with himself wasn’t a new one—or a welcome one, he thought as he swayed on his feet and kind of stumbled into the stool beside him. But forgetting his lonely life with alcohol and men who were all wrong for him seemed like an increasingly good way to cope tonight. The hum and throb of the bass beat was rattling through him, but instead of feeling the pull he usually did to head out to the dance floor and have fun, tonight it seemed to be having the opposite effect. It was making him think really stupid thoughts. “You’re so wasted, Bianchi,” Elliot said as he grabbed Robbie’s arm and guided him to the barstool. “What’s that? Your third shot? And how many margaritas did you have at dinner?” Robbie held up two, then three fingers, and shrugged. “Who cares? Everyone had their New Year’s on Sunday. Tonight’s mine, and I want to celebrate.” “If you celebrate any more, you aren’t gonna remember your first night out of the New Year.” “Don’t care,” Robbie said, as he waved his hand through the air with flourish and leaned a little too much into the action. Luckily, Elliot was there to prop him up. “I wanna have fun tonight. Do something I shouldn’t.” Elliot leaned his elbows back on the bar so he was facing the dance floor and said, “Why don’t you get out there and let someone do you instead? You look gorgeous tonight, darling.” He’s right, I do look cute, Robbie thought. In his skinny jeans and purple V-neck tee that was practically a second skin, Robbie had gone all out with smoky eyes and a new pink shade of gloss he’d bought a couple of days ago that tasted like—mmm, strawberries. He could totally hit the dance floor, find a willing man, and let him do all kinds of things. But that seemed so boring tonight, so normal, and so not what he wanted. He wanted wild. He wanted adventure. He wanted danger. And when the two men he knew were both those things entered his mind, Robbie quickly shook his head, trying to shake them free. Stop thinking about them, he ordered himself, but that was easier said than done. One of them was one of the sexiest men he’d ever seen, and the other the most frustrating—and what was worse was that he couldn’t have either of them even if he wanted to. What was with everyone being fucking married all of a sudden? And to each other? But oh the dreams he’d been having lately. The three of them, all sweaty and naked; they were enough to make him want to No, no, no. That is the worst idea you could have, Robbie told himself. Drunk or sober. Worst. Idea. Ever. Plus, you don’t even like one of them. So stop obsessing over it. “Earth to Robbie…” Elliot said, waving a hand, and Robbie shrugged. “I don’t know. I’m just not in the mood.” You’re not in the mood to grind all over a naked man? Okay, where the hell is my best friend and what did you do with him?” Elliot asked as he swept his black bangs out of his eyes. “I don’t know.” Robbie slumped forward on the bar, dramatic as ever, and looked up at Elliot from under his lashes. “I think I’m in a state of mourning, El, and I don’t know how to get out of it.” Elliot frowned. “Is this about Logan? I thought you were happy for him and Tate?” “I am, but— Ugh. They just got engaged, and now all of a sudden, he’s married. Married.” “I know, babe. But you knew it was coming.” “Doesn’t make it any easier. Knowing there are two more beautiful men off the market forever due to a ring and a piece of paper is just depressing.” “Two more men?” Elliot said, regarding him with a suspicious eye. “Who else do you know who’s hitched?” Julien, Robbie instantly thought, as an image of the famous chef came to mind. Julien “the Prick” Thornton. And this time, as Julien’s name ran through Robbie’s head, he made a point to roll the Jul over his tongue the way Julien had when he’d introduced himself that night at the bar. That’s right…Julien “I’m gay, gorgeous, and, oh yeah, married to your worst enemy” Thornton. He was hitched. “No one,” Robbie said, and pouted. Then he swiveled on the stool to look out at the men gyrating all over one another. “You go and play for the both of us. I’m going to sit here and—” “Ferment?” “Okay that word is too big for my brain right now,” Robbie said, and winced. “Go and feel up the muscles and men for me. Someone should get some enjoyment out of them.” Elliot pursed his lips. “I don’t know…” “I’m just gonna sit here. Not going anywhere,” Robbie promised, crossing a finger over his chest. “Your heart is on the other side, genius.” Robbie switched sides and did it again. “I’m just gonna drown my sorrows so my body hurts tomorrow and will take my mind off my broken heart.” “Aww, cheer up, Buttercup. Your Prince Charming will come to you one day soon.” “Well, until then”—Robbie gestured for the bartender—“I’m going to drink myself into a deep slumber in the hopes that maybe he’ll come on me, or, you know, at least kiss me back to life.” Elliot placed a hand on Robbie’s arm. “Do not go anywhere. I’ll be back for you.” “I can’t feel my legs to move, so… I’ll stay. Like a good little boy.” “Don’t know how good you are, but…” Elliot chuckled, then before he headed out to the dance floor, said, “Where’s your phone?” Robbie dug into his pants pocket and pulled it free. Elliot opened the contacts and scrolled down to his name, and then set it on the bar in front of Robbie. “You need me, call. Do not leave this seat.” Robbie touched his fingertips to his temple in a sloppy salute and then hiccupped. “Yes, sir.” “Okay. Be back for you soon.” Elliot then turned to the bartender and said, “No more after this for him.” When the bartender nodded, Robbie’s mouth fell open. “Hello, you’re not my mother.” “Lucky for you. She’d be spanking your ass right now, not to mention your sisters, and I’m sure you’d much rather have that done by a man who would then pound it afterward. I’ll be back.” Robbie dismissed Elliot with a wave of his hand, and then took great interest in scrolling up and down his list of contacts, searching for someone to occupy his time. It wasn’t until he saw Julien’s number that he realized how drunk he was, because that was the only excuse he could think of as to why he hit call. Well that, and: If there’s a bad decision to make, I will make it. Confessions-Robbie-AN.jpg

REVIEW: Only You by Melanie Harlow

only you blog tour banner

Only You, an all-new sexy and emotional standalone from USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow is LIVE!

Our Review:

Shel: Melanie Harlow's known for writing these wonderfully fallible characters, who also happen to be funny or quirky or sexy or all of the above. In Only You, her characters inhabit many of what we've come to expect in Harlow's books--fallible and funny with a ton of chemistry--and yet there's a sense of pathos that I felt threaded throughout. Maybe it was Nate's insistence that his fairly shallow existence was fulfilling or that Emme continued to pick loser after loser that struck me? Or, maybe it was that both of their insistence on being stubborn in hiding parts of their true inner selves that seemed sad, but I definitely noted that between my smirks and chuckles I felt these pangs of sadness for them. It was this subtle thread that stood out to me and added some depth to an otherwise light and fun read. Court: Uh. Right. Our ability to present the best of ourselves and hide some things because these days y'all...we don't much know how to communicate well for fear of so many things...Anyway, sorry...I could write my whole review on that tangent...but back to Melanie - I love everything about her books. Her covers are stellar. Her writing is stellar. It is her ability to weave a story about a romance that we want to know about that keeps us coming back over and over again to see what she comes up with next. This is no exception...we swooned in all of the right places, and the angst didn't quite kill me.

Shel: Ultimately, though, it's Harlow's light touch and well paced story telling, along with her swoony goofy characters that keep many readers coming back for more and Only You will continue that trend.  Court: Girl, I swear I didn't even read what you wrote before I got to this part...and I love how we're on the same wavelength at all times! I digress again, but y'all...check out Melanie Harlow today! Stop missing out!

Nate Pearson is ridiculously handsome and wears the hell out of a suit and tie, but I've seen the parade of beautiful women leaving his apartment across the hall-a different one every time-and I want no part of it. When it comes to romance, I'm looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after.
As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there's no such thing.
As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree.
We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we're watching 007 flicks together, and I'll admit-he has rescued me from a disaster or five. So when one of the baton twirlers from his parade leaves a baby girl at his door with a note that says "I'll come back for her" and he begs me for help, I can't turn him down.
But it's a mistake.
Because watching him with his daughter, I start to see another side of Nate, a side that has my breath coming faster, my body craving his, my heart longing for him to change his mind about love and tell me there's a chance for us.
I don't want to be just another girl leaving his apartment in the morning.
I want to be the one he asks to stay.

“So did you mean what you said last night? About me?” He grimaced, his eyes closing briefly. “I’m sorry about that. I shouldn’t have said it.” “But you think it, right? That I’m a little girl living in a fantasy world?” “No.” He put a hand on my shoulder. “I think you’re an optimist. I think you see good in people they don’t even see themselves. You build people up—especially me.” “You?” I laughed a little. “You don’t need me to build you up.” “Hell yes, I do. You think I’d have been able to handle this whole fatherhood bombshell if you hadn’t been here? If you’d said, ‘That’s what you get for fucking around, asshole. Good luck.’ I shook my head, a strand of hair coming loose from my bun. “I’d never have done that.” “I know.” He tucked the strand behind my ear and moved his hand to the back of my neck. His eyes dropped to my lips. “But I would have deserved it.” I held my breath. Things seemed to be happening in slow motion. His forehead came to rest on mine. And then our noses touched. Our eyes closed. An eternity passed, his lips a whisper from mine. Either one of us could have initiated a kiss. A slight lift of my chin. A little drop of his head. The question—will we or won’t we?—hung there between us, even as his closed lips brushed mine, eyelash soft. I wanted nothing more than to wrap my arms around his neck and fit my body flush against his, but my wrists lay inert on the edge of the sink. Suddenly he spoke, his breath warm against my mouth. “You know that dream you have, the one where you really want to do something, you’re desperate to do something, but you’re paralyzed?” “Yes,” I whispered. “I think I’m having that dream right now.” “Me too.” And then I felt it, the gentle pressure at the back of my neck, pulling my head toward him. It was all I needed. Our mouths came together firmly this time, our lips opening, and I angled my body toward his, throwing my arms around his neck. His hands explored my back while his tongue explored my mouth, and he backed me into the corner, his hips pinning mine against the hard stone counter. He kissed with a fervor and intensity that surprised me, his mouth traveling down my neck, his fingers threading through my hair, pulling the pins loose, his body giving off heat that mine hungrily absorbed. I wanted to get closer to him, wished I could feel his skin against mine. I rose up on tiptoe to press against him, my back arching to fit the question mark curve of his body. He felt big and strong and reassuring, exactly how I wanted him to feel. I wasn’t even sure what it was I wanted reassurance about… My desirability? Our chemistry? Something new and different happening between us? He swept his lips to the other side of my throat, a necklace of soft, insistent kisses that warmed my blood. When his mouth returned to mine, the kiss grew hot and frantic. He reached down and hiked the hem of my skirt to my waist, and I immediately jumped up, wrapping my legs around him. His hands moved under my ass and he carried me like that into the living room, never lifting his mouth off mine. When he reached the couch, he knelt on it and tipped me backward, stripping off his shirt and stretching out above me. My hands moved lightning fast over hot skin, solid muscle. Chest and arms and back—I couldn’t get enough. His hand stole beneath the T-shirt I wore and I arched my back so he could reach underneath me and unclasp my bra, then moaned softly at the feel of his palm over my breasts. Moving down, he shoved the shirt and bra up to my neck and put his mouth on me, his lips, his tongue, his teeth, my nipples hardening into tight little peaks that begged to be licked, sucked, teased, tortured. What are we doing? What are we doing? What are we doing? screamed a voice in my head. I ignored it, hooking my arms beneath his and pulling him up so I could kiss him again. I didn’t care what we were doing. It felt way too good to stop. ONLY-YOU-TEASER-FOUR-AN

NEW + REVIEW: Sinner by Sierra Simone

SINNER by Sierra Simone

Release Date: March 15th
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Designer: Letitia Hasser from RBA Designs

Sierra Simone.
How am I supposed to have words? You stole them all and used your word sorcery to weave a story that had me under its spell. It opened my heart. It broke my heart. It healed my heart. It was passionate and wonderful and considerate and respectful. It was deliciously naughty. It was profound and ...really all the things. It was just all the things. ALL OF THE THINGS.

Court: How on earth can I follow that? Okay, so Shel is right. Sierra Simone has a unique style...and it is awesome. Her story is so well written and thought out, and nothing is every included by accident. Nothing is said for the purpose of filling pages, or "fluffy" and I can't tell you how much we love that!

Shel: I loved the conversations between our 'sinner' Sean and Zenny--they ran the gamut from discussing religion, belief, faith and hurt to internalized and externalized racism. I loved how they taught each other and learned from each other and gahhhhh--I have no words. I loved them together and I feel like I could read a chapter about the rest of their lives for the rest of my life and still want more. Court: It's that realness that we're always looking for in characters isn't it? I think that to capture the true essence of our exissentialism if you will really makes us question our own beliefs and teach us something, and I love when a book has the ability to do that...but also be fun and sexy and an escape all at the same time.

Shel: You always, always, deliver, Sierra Simone. I know that no matter what you write you're going to challenge me, affirm other parts of my system of beliefs, give me things to ponder, and entertain me. Please never stop writing. Court: I second that. Don't go! And if you've not read this book...we recommend it STAT!

I’m not a good man, and I’ve never pretended to be. I don’t believe in goodness or God or any happy ending that isn’t paid for in advance.
What do I believe in? Money. Sex. Macallan 18.
They have words for men like me—playboy. Womanizer. Skirt chaser.
My brother used to be a priest, and he only has one word for me.
***Sinner is a standalone companion to Priest about Father Bell's brother Sean. You do not have to read Priest or Midnight Mass to read Sinner.***
“Zenny,” I mumble against her lips, some valiant part of me recognizing that this is far, far beyond the kiss she asked for, and also recognizing that I’m going to come all over the inside of my Hugo Boss suit pants if she keeps it up. Even through the clothes, I can feel her heat, her shameless rolls hinting at where she goes soft and wet between her legs.
Fuck, I want to see it. I want to see her pussy. It’s suddenly all I can think about, all I can want or crave, just one glimpse, just a peek.
“I want to see your cunt,” I say hoarsely, lifting my head.
“My…cunt?” She says the word like she’s never said it out loud before.
“Yeah.” My voice is so ragged right now, so desperate, and fuck, I’ve never felt this frantic before. Like I’ll actually combust if I don’t get this one thing, this one small sight of her secret place.
She lets out a shaky breath, her hand dropping from my lapel to her skirt, which she slowly rucks up to her waist as I devour her lips once more, as I bury my face in her neck and kiss every sliver of skin exposed above her collar. I bite at her ear, at her jaw, my hand finding hers as it pulls her skirt up, so that I’m helping her do it, that we’re doing it together, this forbidden act, this forbidden revelation.
Her forbidden body.
That word, forbidden, spikes through my mind, bringing with it equal spikes of lust and fear. Because yes, it’s fucking hot that I shouldn’t be kissing her, I shouldn’t be begging to see her most secret place, my hand shouldn’t be covering hers as it slides up her thigh—but it’s also bad. Bad even for Sean Bell.
Bad, bad, bad.

NEW: Craft by Adriana Locke

Title: Craft
Series: The Gibson Boys #2
Author: Adriana Locke
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 14, 2018

They’re not quite enemies. Not really friends. More like frustrated balls of sexual tension and neither will give in.
Lance Gibson drives Mariah Malarkey absolutely crazy. He uses her office like a phone booth, takes cupcakes from the corner of her desk like she baked them just for him. She didn’t. Maybe she knew the history teacher happened to love peanut butter icing, but that was purely a coincidence. All sixteen times.

Mariah has a way of getting under Lance’s skin too. She calls him out on his crap, spoils him even if inadvertently, and seeing the librarian in skirts drives him wild. She won’t give in. It’s for the best, really, considering there’s no way he could lie to a woman like that and he’s not about to tell her the truth about himself. Not in a million years.

These two don’t hate each other. They don’t really like each other. But for this to be a friends-to-lovers story, they have to start somewhere, right?

Note: This can be read as a standalone novel.

Who knew things could get even darker and dirtier in New Orleans? New York Times bestselling author Meghan March introduces the Savage Prince of the city, the man you never want to meet. I do what I want and who I want. I don’t follow anyone’s rules—even my own. I knew I shouldn’t touch her, but it didn’t stop me. Didn’t stop me the second time either. Only made me want a third. My lifestyle suits the savage I am, and she doesn’t. But Temperance Ransom is my newest addiction, and I’m nowhere near ready to quit her yet. I’ll have her my way, even if it means dragging her into the darkness. Hopefully it doesn’t kill us both. Savage Prince is book one of the Savage Trilogy, set in the same world as Ruthless King, however you do not need to read the Mount Trilogy to devour this scandalously hot new story. REVIEW: Hidden Seams by Alessandra Torre

Shel: EVERY SINGLE BOOK by Alessandra Torre gets me. Every single one. I always think I'm going to start it and then get other things done and then NOPE, I find myself glued to her words until either I'm finished or sleep gets me first. Hidden Seams was no different. I started it last night and finished it early this morning. Court: Amen to NOPE! Her book starts, and it speaks to you and says "You will sit here and you will love me." And it is right. I don't know quite how she does it, but I love that she does it. Over and over and over.

Shel: I love how unlikely Hidden Seams is--I seriously cannot imagine the lives that Marco and Avery lead. His existence is so far removed from my pedantic lifestyle that I can't fathom having someone wait on my every movement, nor can I imagine living as a beard for as long as he did. And Avery? She's just such a badass that I can't fathom how she even really managed not to get shot at every turn. Court: I love that bit of escapism though, don't you. Sometimes it is trenchy to get in there with every day things, so that aspect draws me in...and then makes it so I also get something out of their style of life and love. Alessandra can keep me me on my toes all day every day if she'd like!

Shel: It's this unlikeliness that makes it absolutely perfect escapist fiction. I loved diving into their stories, their romance, their small deceptions, and their dreamy ending. It's the craziest fun Cinderella story that I've read in quite a while--and such a change from the emotional roller coaster of The Ghostwriter. Alessandra Torre can write anything--I've known this for a while now and this just confirms it. I'm eager to see what world she plunges us into next. Court: She can. She absolutely can. I love reading her stories, especially now that she provides a bit of insight into her writing process, and how things work for her. It is fun to see all sides of her creating life in her books, and is addicting to see what she is going to come up with next. I like this one for it's levity and break (You're right. The Ghostwriter about killed me!) I can't wait to see what she writes about next!

From a New York Times Bestseller comes the story of a billion-dollar fortune and the sex, lies, and betrayal that surrounds it...

I've worked a decade for this. I've sold my soul and my reputation. I've lived a lie, smiled for the cameras, and hated myself, all for this fortune.

And then ... she pops up. A mysterious heir with a rap sheet, combat boots, and a mouth that I want to pin shut with my--
It doesn't matter. I've played this game for a decade. I can continue the charade a little longer, keep my hands to myself and her body out of my mind.

I can keep my secret until the ink dries and everything is mine.
Or not.
