From New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, an Inside Out series e-short told from Mark’s point of view, as he battles his all-consuming desire for Crystal. Devastated by Rebecca’s death, Mark is facing the chaos of the press and the police investigation alone, his reputation, his business, and even his freedom under threat. When a family emergency sends him back east to New York, he puts Crystal—who’s as capable as she is challenging—in charge of his San Francisco art gallery. A Master, all about control, right now he feels that he has none. With his secret sex club and his relationships of the past in the spotlight, Mark finds sanctuary in the one place he promised he would never be again—but cannot seem to resist. Crystal’s arms

OUR REVIEW:

As the Chris + Sara story is slowly beginning to wind down, I'm finding myself more and more intrigued by Mark + Crystal. He's haunted by what happened with Rebecca and all sorts of messed up about it. It's twisting the way he views himself and relationships and you can see that it's going to be quite a journey for him to recover from it. What sucks is that not only is he having to deal with what happened to Rebecca but Ava is totally screwing him; she's casting a suspicious light on him and his club and his family's name, his livelihood, and his private life are all on the brink of disaster. (EFFING AVA, GAH!!!!)

I spent a lot of time in this whirlwind novella being mad at Ava...but Shel is 100% right. Mark, who has ensnared me surprisingly enough with the enigma that is Mark Compton (I mean, the name alone...huzzah), has so much going on in this installment. He has to keep his cool, and you can feel his control slipping. He knows it. We know it. Something is going to happen ahead...and it's going to get crazier and crazier. And I feel like every single detail we get about him ups the ante that much more! Every single time!

Crystal seems like she could be just the woman to help him. She's strong and stubborn and smart, and mouthy...seemingly all things that he'd want to resist, right? Hmmm. Well. Let's see how his resistance holds up, shall we? She has just the right balance of fiesty-ness and vulnerability and it'll be interesting to see how this thing between them plays out.

I don't know how I feel about her yet. I KNOW I don't trust her...at all....there is something going on with her. I just can't yet put my finger on what it is...but I DO KNOW, I want to KNOW WHAT IT IS ALREADY! So, this novella does answer, and then raise about a bazillion more questions...sorry y'all...but atleast we're in for this ride together!

I seriously cannot wait to see what happens between them next and I'm hoping they get a full length novel. From the schedule, I don't think they do...but it does look like we get quite a few more novellas about Mark! So I'll take what we can get!!
