MUSIC MONDAY (6): Shinedown & The Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Music Monday is a weekly feature we love to read by Jessica @ Lovin' Los Libros and since I have music playing at all times of the day, no matter what is going on (even to read) I talked Shel into spreading our music love with you!

Court's weekly selection: Shinedown. I hop from one obsession to another, but I have to say that Shinedown has been a favorite for almost a decade. I have first few dates memories with my hubs of listening to their music, and realizing how much we have in common, and well also how much we don't. Haha. Opposites attract, right? Right. So anyways, I love this album with all of my little dramatic heart. Sure, there are the songs that had mainstream success that are enjoyable, but the rest of the album as always is what makes my heart go pitter-patter. Good stuff, peeps. Good stuff. Hard rock not your thing? Well, I'll try to find something a little softer and lighter for next time!

Shel's weekly selection: The Red Hot Chili Peppers

So I'm old, okay?!! I like old stuff. And this album I not only like...I LOVE. It reminds me of my life 20 years ago and while those were some definite angsty times, the music was amazing. These days I like this album when I'm running (or more realistically...jogging...slowly). I need music that's going to push me to run harder, faster, and longer and this album does it for me. It takes my mind off of the suffocating humidity and helps me get through my 30 minutes of cardio. And for that, I'm always grateful.

  1. I love both of these you two! I saw the RHCP last year at a music festival and they were beyond incredible. I was SO happy I got to see them! And I haven't listened to a whole lot of Shinedown, but I love their Amaryllis album. Great choices girls!
