Being Me:
I arch into him, drinking in his passion, instantly, willingly consumed by all that he is and could be to me. . . .

Sara McMillan is still searching for Rebecca, the mysterious woman whose dark, erotic journal entries both enthralled and frightened her. Tormented by a strong desire to indulge the demands of her new boss while also drawn deeper into her passionate bond with the troubled artist, Chris Merit, Sara must face a past as deeply haunting as Rebecca’s written words. In one man’s arms, Sara will find the safe haven to reveal her most intimate secrets and explore her darkest fantasies. But is safety just an illusion, when the truth about Rebecca has yet to be discovered?

Maybe Lisa Renee Jones is trying to kill me? Kill my Kindle? Because the last 10% (or maybe 20%) was a lot of me DYING; I sent Courtney rapid texts wherein I said 'shit' and 'fuck' a really a lot. Lemme back up for a second and say that if you have not read the first book (If I Were You) ..DO NOT start Being Me until you read that one first. Also? go ahead and do yourself a favor and load on your Kindle/Nook/ipad as many books in this series as you possibly can. Trust me on this. TRUST ME. Trust her. We are on our fourth foray into Lisa Renee Jones' writing, and definitely trust us that it has been an incredible journey every single time with layer upon layer of intrigue, sex, mystery and ridiculously well developed characters and writing that will just make you fly through the pages.

Where was I? Oh yeah..fuh-reaking out. The ending. GEEEEZUS. I guess, though, before you get to the end, you have to read the rest. So here's what I'll tell you (without being spoilerific):

  • During the first part of this book I wanted Sara to make up her dang mind...she seemed so on the fence about things and I just wanted her to make a decision, be brave, and go for it. This secret she has was teased out for a looooong time. This is definitely not a feeling I am unfamiliar with. She is so dead set on not being "owned" or told what to do, and I hoped that she would be able to find a balance with her independence and the most alpha of alpha men on the planet.
  • Chris was pretty much Chris (read: alpha awesome and sweet, when he wasn't being "protective") the first part but then he killed me with his refusal to share. GAH. I really love Chris. He is definitely all alpha male, and I think this is a testament to Lisa (like we've read before with Liam in the Infinite Possibilities series) and how she can write a character that we root for hard core, but yet still know very little about...that is...until she wants us to.
  • Therefore, they BOTH drove me batty at various points of this novel. Can't have a good book not drive us batty it seems!
  • I had questions or suspected more storylines out of lots of characters from book one and this book does not disappoint. All of the characters from book one come back and a few new ones are added. There's a TON of story here and some questions are answered, suspicions are confirmed...a few new questions arise.. Gah. Nothing to say her but OH MY GAH!
  • And lastly, I just have to say that the way LRJ (how Court and I refer to Lisa Renee Jones in our texts) had Sara deal with Mark was refreshing. She keeps him on his toes is all I can say!
So...I feel like if I don't get to book 3 soon, bad things will happen. Once again the ending left me wanting more, more, MORE. Can't wait to see how it all goes down in book 3! Next week we will review the novellas in this series and then finally a review of BOOK 3. Please stay tuned.

I too cannot WAIT to read more of this series! I! I really love it...there is so much more than a possible BDSM romance, and that may've been my expectation at first...but there is way more to it than that. And just think...all I can do is visualize how this is going to be portrayed on A TV SERIES!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!! STARZ NEEDS TO HURRY UP!!!

If I Were You:
When Sara McMillan finds a stack of journals in a storage unit, she's shocked and enthralled by the erotic life the writer led. Unable to stop reading, she vicariously lives out dark fantasies through Rebecca, the writer--until the terrifying final entry.

Certain something sinister has happened, Sara sets out to discover the facts, immersing herself in Rebecca's life. Soon she's working at the art gallery Rebecca worked at and meeting Rebecca's friends. Finding herself drawn to two dangerously sexy men, the manager of the gallery and a famed artist, Sara realizes she's going down the same path Rebecca took. But with the promise of her dark needs being met by a man with confident good looks and a desire for control, she's not sure anything else matters. Just the burn for more.

 Rebecca’s Journal—A Novella:

Kept under lock and key, discovered by chance, dangerous new secrets and scintillating adventures lie within Rebecca’s private diaries—searing scenes from a passionate journey inside a world where pain is pleasure, pleasure is pain, and where every limit she once had is no more.

The Master Undone—A Novella:
I told him goodbye, and I will not call him. I know if I do, it will be my undoing, and I’ll once again be caught up in his spell. I will once again be…lost.
In her private journals, Rebecca laid bare her soul, revealing her obsession for the one man whose erotic demands captivated her imagination—and enslaved her forever. Now, with Rebecca no longer in his life, her former Master is lost—questioning everything he thought he knew about himself, and the control he holds in such high regard. One woman will reach out to heal him and then turn away, leaving him haunted. She is nothing he thought he wanted, and somehow everything he needs. He tells himself to forget her, but he cannot escape his desire for her. He has to have more...

Revealing Us:

You've discovered Rebecca's secrets. You've discovered Sara's secrets. Now Sara will discover "his" deepest, darkest secrets...but will those secrets bind them together--or tear them apart?
