BLOG TOUR, GIVEAWAY & REVIEW: REBECCA'S LOST JOURNALS BY LISA RENEE JONES

Rebecca’s Journal—A Novella:

Kept under lock and key, discovered by chance, dangerous new secrets and scintillating adventures lie within Rebecca’s private diaries—searing scenes from a passionate journey inside a world where pain is pleasure, pleasure is pain, and where every limit she once had is no more.
OUR REVIEW:

I wasn't really sure what to expect with Rebecca's Lost Journals, honestly, because I wasn't sure if it would just be a repeat of information..it wasn't. It was helpful to see what Sara's character was reading ...I was able to see what was causing her worry/anxiety about Rebecca. **also please note that these should be read after book 1, and if you read the last journal (Mark's) then after book 2**.

I was surprised too. I was surprised by how much I liked the format, and how much it truly felt like we were reading a journal. That was very cool, and something different from the really different and awesome style that we have seen from LRJ before. She has this crazy ability to surprise us with every single title we read from her, and it gets more and more mysterious and insane with every single page we read. We are ridiculously hooked people!!!

Because these are journal entries I felt that they weren't quite the same as reading If I Were You and Being Me.  The journal entries weren't as detailed or descriptive--which makes sense because they are..well, journal entries. They did, however, give me a fuller understanding of Rebecca and her feelings towards Mark; they gave hints about what occurred between them and a loose timeline of events.

I liked that it was the lost journals (hence the name) that are discovered that I'm pretty sure Sara has not read. We get to see the start of the relationship when we know who is being talked about, because in the entries that Sara reads in Books 1 + 2, the references are my master and his friend. Sara doesn't know for sure who anyone in the story is besides Rebecca and she is just as enthralled as we are. We seem to get off on a story within a story, within a story type of books and this is definitely one that is so intertwined and twisted, that again...we get off on it and cannot get enough! Give me Book 3!!

It was the last journal, Mark's, that I found the most interesting. It gave the barest of hints of who this guy is and what happens in that brain of his. All I can say is...I cannot wait to read more of him (and Crystal--now THERE'S a story just waiting to explode!!!). Right? I FLOVED IT! Mark is so in control and mysterious all of the time, and having been in a similar situation that he finds himself in (NO, get your mind out of the gutter and read it...you'll probably figure it out...) it is hard to deal with, and you definitely feel as if you don't have any control over what is happening. Crystal...ugh, I can't get a read on her, but I feel like how it ended is NOT GOOD! ABORT! But did I tell him that in time? NO! And Chris! Eeep!

These journals were definitely a nice addition to the series and were probably a nice bridge between stories when the 3rd book hadn't yet been released; fortunately for us, the third book is out..and we'll have a review of it on the blog next week. Please come back and see what we have to say. Yes. I truly love again how much of an addition these are, like you said Shel, but also how much I ended up enjoying them. That was truly not expected, because I didn't expect to care so much how conflicted Rebecca was. It helped us get an even deeper feel for characters that we already felt like we knew about. I can't wait to know even more!

If I Were You:

When Sara McMillan finds a stack of journals in a storage unit, she's shocked and enthralled by the erotic life the writer led. Unable to stop reading, she vicariously lives out dark fantasies through Rebecca, the writer--until the terrifying final entry.
Certain something sinister has happened, Sara sets out to discover the facts, immersing herself in Rebecca's life. Soon she's working at the art gallery Rebecca worked at and meeting Rebecca's friends. Finding herself drawn to two dangerously sexy men, the manager of the gallery and a famed artist, Sara realizes she's going down the same path Rebecca took. But with the promise of her dark needs being met by a man with confident good looks and a desire for control, she's not sure anything else matters. Just the burn for more.

Being Me:

I arch into him, drinking in his passion, instantly, willingly consumed by all that he is and could be to me. . . .
Sara McMillan is still searching for Rebecca, the mysterious woman whose dark, erotic journal entries both enthralled and frightened her. Tormented by a strong desire to indulge the demands of her new boss while also drawn deeper into her passionate bond with the troubled artist, Chris Merit, Sara must face a past as deeply haunting as Rebecca’s written words. In one man’s arms, Sara will find the safe haven to reveal her most intimate secrets and explore her darkest fantasies. But is safety just an illusion, when the truth about Rebecca has yet to be discovered?

The Master Undone—A Novella:

I told him goodbye, and I will not call him. I know if I do, it will be my undoing, and I’ll once again be caught up in his spell. I will once again be…lost.
In her private journals, Rebecca laid bare her soul, revealing her obsession for the one man whose erotic demands captivated her imagination—and enslaved her forever. Now, with Rebecca no longer in his life, her former Master is lost—questioning everything he thought he knew about himself, and the control he holds in such high regard. One woman will reach out to heal him and then turn away, leaving him haunted. She is nothing he thought he wanted, and somehow everything he needs. He tells himself to forget her, but he cannot escape his desire for her. He has to have more...
Revealing Us:

You've discovered Rebecca's secrets. You've discovered Sara's secrets. Now Sara will discover "his" deepest, darkest secrets...but will those secrets bind them together--or tear them apart?
