REVIEW + GIVEAWAY: TRY BY ELLA FRANK

Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.

Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?

And he wants to try Tate Morrison.

Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.

The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.

Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.

As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.

Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?

OUR REVIEW:
For those uninitiated in m/m genre I think that this would be a fantastic choice. This novel is a journey into how one seemingly straight man (Tate) can find himself in a position to try to see himself with another man (Logan). It's rich with all of the things you'd want in a romance--the back story, the chase, the sexual tension..and chemistry, and the conflict...as well as the tender and funny moments that we've all come to know and love in Ella Frank's novels.

Truly, all of those things are pretty epic. And you know why? You said why. Because Ella Frank wrote it. I was a wee bit nervous, but since we're branching out a bit in our genre selection I wasn't completely freaked or anything. The steam is steamy! Holy crap, it is steamy...but like you said...the framework of the story makes for a pretty epic novel and read.

First up is Logan. Logan is such a snarky bastard and I loved every second I spent with him. I loved his smart and dirty mouth. I loved his persistence. I loved his constant pushing of all of Tate's buttons. I loved his bossy ways and his honesty. Welllll ...except for when he has a hard time admitting some truths about himself, to himself. I hope to discover in the second book (coming this summer...GAH...a loooong wait) more about Logan and how he works through the wall he's built around his heart. In the meantime...just know that Logan is one sexy and snarky man and I cannot wait to read more.

Girrrl, we knew he was going to be a trip from the first time we met him in Edible. And he is. I loved all of his interactions, no matter what they were. He is sometimes painfully, and brutally honest but definitely has to expand even his own beliefs as much as Tate has to because he has not committed himself to anyone since he was 19. That is a long time to be all about numero uno, and Logan is definitely a lone wolf. But a loveable, bossy, sexy and complicated one for certain.

Then there's Tate. Sexy and conflicted Tate. I loved his story. I understood his confusion. I loved that Ella wrote him so honestly. He has lots of questions, some insecurity about what all of this means, and a good case of curiosity. He has these great moments of vulnerability and equally great moments of strength and bravery. I love that he takes zero shit from Logan and can stand up to him. I love that he is in just as much of a position of power as Logan is and that he uses it, just as Logan would. I love that he's brutally honest and that he takes risks rather than hides from them. As interested as I am in Logan's journey, I'm even more interested in how Tate will navigate the surely rough seas that will tumble over him in the next book.

Totes, as much as we love Logan (because damn, he's COLE'S BROTHER!) Tate was a aaahhhh--freeaaakkkinnnnggg--mazzzzing character. There is so many complications that are going to come in the next book for him that I was already worrying about a ton in this one. Is he doing this? Is this really what he wants, or is he just curious. Is it real for both of them? Is he reallllyy going to go tell his family? How is his ex-wife going to react to this news. (P.S. I really hate her, and the fact that she has his family snowed over still...ggrrr...loyalty people.) As you can see, Ella caused Tate to make me ask a lot of questions! And I feel that while this was a pretty beautiful set up the next go around is going to completely slay my emotions. But for now...Tate put all of his chips on the board, and caused Logan to do the same. It was pretty epic!!

These two men have fantastic chemistry; they are H-O-T. They have sharp tongues and witty banter. The bar scenes and bedroom scenes are off the charts --immeasurably steamy and fun to read. This is one of my new favorite books...is definitely in my top books for the year..so you should definitely put it on your MUST READ OR DIE list! What I think you'll discover is that romance is romance...no matter the genders involved...and boy does Ella know how to write some sexy, hot, great romance. I'd love to take up residence in her brain and play with these characters!

I too think this one deserves you to check it out! It is different, and completely pushes the envelope on erotic romance...because like I said it's Ella muthafuckin' Frank, and she can seriously write a book. It was sexy and steamy and so well written, I just can't even describe it. The feels...major feels were brought and who knew that just kisses could be that hot? Not me, I'll tell ya right now! *sigh* Also, Cole & Rachel appearances made my night. I love when Logan and Cole argue!!!

Shelley: 5 shiny and very bright stars!
Courtney: 5 Stars too!!

Logan stroked his slippery palm up Tate’s engorged length, watching his face go from sexual torment to one of pure, unadulterated lust while his hips moved, driving his cock through Logan’s fist.
“Open your eyes,” Logan demanded as he continued to pump his hand up and down.
Tate’s brown eyes opened, catching on his, and Logan could tell that he’d finally let go of all thoughts and was just feeling in this moment.
“Good?”
“Fuck yes,” Tate rasped, right before he cupped Logan’s face and tackled him backward onto the bed.
