Synopsis
“I will do anything to make her MINE.” —Remington Tate

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington “Remy” Tate as vital as the air he breathes . . . and now he can’t live without her.

Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman’s dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, Brooke is torn away from the ringside. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

 OUR REVIEW:

In Real the anticipation for Remy and Brooke to break the seal on their sexual relationship was almost agonizing...we were practically shouting at our Kindles to 'just do it, already!!!' In Mine the wait for them to resume all things Remy and Brooke is short and instead your anticipation centers on how things will end up with these two. The good news is that the angsty, frustration-inducing, want to throw something or kill someone, moments are few. There are a few dips in this Remy and Brooke roller coaster but nothing that's going to rip your heart out and make you wonder if you are going to be breathing when you are done. Instead this novel explores the time they were apart and the impact of  it on their current relationship-- and how to work through new things as they come up.

Mine was indeed a story that took things to a deeper emotional level, while still keeping with the sexy times and sexy Underground training and fights that we came to love in Real. I loved Real a helluva lot...and was skeptical whether or not this one would reach my expectations for a sequel. It definitely DID! Whew, Thank God right? Right. Remy is still undergoing a deep internal struggle with himself and his illness, and Brooke is still coming to terms with everything that has happened and the decisions that she has made. She is also dealing with a lot of insane jealousy for the women who love to swoon over her hot man, and I can't blame her one bit!

What I found supremely gratifying about this book was that, for the most part, Brooke and Remy were able to communicate. There were no unnecessary lies or misunderstandings; they openly expressed frustration and hurt and love and joy. With some of the situations they found themselves in, many couples would not have been able to withstand the hardships and emotions but Brooke and Remy were growing up and tackling things together. What they didn't express with words they expressed with their bodies...yeah those hot, sexy scenes in Real?...well they have nothing on the hot, sexy scenes in Mine. Whew...be ready--your Kindles may melt!

And you know who initiated all that contact when a certain someone tried to hide her feelings and run away? Remy. Always Remy. He didn't let her hide from him, and that made their relationship even better. There was a lot of give on his part, but don't count Brooke out....there is some more heavy emotional stuff going on...where Remy needs his Queen(sigh..his Queen) to stand by him 100%...sigh, it was so great!

All of the old friends and family come out to play in Mine. Diane and Riley and Coach and Pete continue to help take care of Remy and Brooke's friend, Melissa, provides a voice of reason and fun. Unfortunately some old enemies crawl out of the woodwork and are slimy as ever. Ggggrrrr! That's all I have to say about that last part! Gggrrrr.

I read this book (while working a full time job, and taking care of my family during the work week) in one day--so this should tell you how addictive it was; it practically read itself. I had to know what would happen next and just couldn't put it down. I am super excited about book 3 in this series! Lol! Yep, it is a "don't put this book down until you finish it! Ever!"

I also must say that Katy Evans sucks me into this story, even without the sex and smut, with her full plot and story. I am a nurse, so the medical stuff always appeals to me. I won't spoil it and say what kind of medical stuff this time around....but everything she included I've been doing in my RN classes and clinicals. Which is freaky, because in Real the story was all about Ortho/ACL and I worked in Ortho, treating people with ACL injuries. So...is she sort of psychic. Eh, maybe..Hahaha....regardless I loved this book!
