Shel: Recently, Court and I read Searching for Perfect (Nate and Kennedy's story) and I enjoyed it but it really made me hungry for Wolfe's book. It had been a while since we'd heard from him and when I saw his book was next in this series, I was stoked. Court: Wolfe is definitely a favorite character of mine, and I don't think I ever hoped to get a book this much, because he was so conflicted before and I wanted to know ALL about him...and that is special for me, simply because yo, we read about him books ago...and he wasn't even the main hero...he was a young boy looking for someone to love and accept him. A total lone wolf....and we fell in love.

Shel: Wolfe and Gen did not disappoint. Their story was tumultuous and funny and filled with sexual tension. She was trying to figure out her post runaway bride life and Wolfe was there to help offer her the time, space, distraction, and care that she needed. He was exactly the kind of friend you'd want on your side. He was thoughtful; he knew when and how to ask the right questions; and he was just...lovely. Court: The whole story started off with a definite bang, or in Gen's case...a definite bounce right out the window of the church. And we were off after that. I couldn't help but love Wolfe even more either for how well he truly knew his best friend, and looked out for her. Critically, my only problem with the writing is the the best friend thing and how much it was ground into us that they had to just be friends. I have to take off a smidgen of star power by just how many times that theme is repeated. We got it, promise!

Shel: Once Gen began to get her groove back, she turned her attention to Wolfe and soon they were both feeling the undeniable stirrings of sexual tension and both of them spent a tremendous amount of time and effort trying to deny, avoid, and push down all of those feelings. Why? Because they'd been the best of friends for a long time and neither of them wanted to give that up for sex. Except they did. And reading their attempts to ignore the sexiness of the other was pretty entertaining. As you can image things get complicated..and then not...and then challenging as Gen delves more into Wolfe's history and he's resistant to opening up and accepting what Gen wanted to give him. Court: And all of that David drama definitely has a girl questioning being with men ever again, yo. BUT Wolfe is Wolfe...and wow, can that boy kiss. I stayed up half the night reading, because once I was hooked..I was hooked! And yes! I had to work today!

Shel: If you're a fan of this series, you know you're not getting out of this book without experiencing some laughter and frustration, some tension and soul searching, and lots of love and sexiness and eventually the HEA you've been waiting for. Court: I definitely was on board for all of those things. I love the title for this one, because perfect definitely isn't idealistic, but beautiful is...and I loved reading as Gen realized that she had lost herself...and she worked hard to get that back on her terms. It makes for a lot of antics, some good luck (see: horse races) and love and friendship that are once in a lifetime. I am grateful to have read this one. Check it out!
