REVIEW: SAFE WITH ME BY KRISTEN PROBY (WITH ME #5)

Keeping others safe is what Caleb Montgomery does. He's never had a problem taking on an assignment, whether it was during his dangerous SEAL days or his most recent job of training war mercenaries. But being assigned to keep Brynna Vincent and her adorable daughters, Maddie and Josie, safe from an unknown threat has thrown Caleb off his axis. Hot for the tall brunette since she came back to town more than a year ago, being close to her day in and day out is cracking Caleb's resolve to keep his hands off her gorgeous body and his head in the mission.

Brynna is sick and tired of being afraid. All she wants is a normal, quiet life for her and her precious girls. Just as she's settling into her new home in Seattle and feeling safe again, Caleb shows up on her doorstep insisting the danger is as high as ever. But whether she needs to be sheltered from the threat in her past, or from the intense emotions she feels for the sexy, protective man sleeping in her home, remains to be seen. What will happen if Brynna and her girls fall in love with a man so broken he may not be able to protect them from the danger that threatens, much less himself?"

SAFE WITH ME is the fifth book in the With Me In Seattle series, and continues to follow this tight-knit, loving family through life's trials and tribulations with humor, passion and everlasting love.

Our Review---
I've read all of the books in this series and I am always sure to have the newest one on pre-order so that I can get it as soon as it's available. I thought I had a favorite before but Safe With Me is definitely in the running for my top pick. This story follows Bryn and Caleb. He's trying to protect her from the men who killed her husband....and in the meantime they manage to fall for each other. I had been ready to get the skinny on Caleb for a while...so why I waited so long to read this one? Who knows...but it was a wonderful effortless afternoon reading this book and I am so very pleased. I have been in a funk.

I love how spunky Bryn is. She speaks her mind and has no problem standing up for herself..ever. She could've easily been a meek mouse--with trying to handle the repercussions of her husband's murder and the constant hovering of Matt and Caleb...but NOPE, she is mouthy and fun and has one of the best dirty mouths on a woman I've read in a while. She's also a fantastic mom and friend and absolutely calls Caleb on all of his shit. I love her for it...LOVE HER!!!! Oh yes. I love that she is fierce...and I felt her serious frustration with Caleb that had her wanting to bang her head into the wall. I felt that pain, honey...and yet she was so strong in all of the adversity that Shel mentioned. I'm sure she would say her life was constant drama for a while...and then I am not so sure I would have been so clear headed about it. She is a rockin' mama.

Caleb is actually the more broken of the two but I LOVE him too. He's strong in all of the ways you'd want a man to be and yet he has the deepest soft spot in his heart for the women in his life that the combination of the two is swoonworthy. He's trying to fight his adoration and love for Bryn because he's so worried that his PTSD from his SEAL missions will hurt her. He's so damn hot and cold with her and while I appreciate where he's coming from I just want to send him to a therapist asap and tell him to handle it because Bryn will not wait forever. After a rather unfortunate attempt to push Bryn away, Caleb realizes what he's missing and decides once and for all to work on his issues. Will Bryn accept his apology and allow him to try again...well if you're a fan of this series, I'll tell you that you will not be disappointed with how this all turns out.

He made me want to throat punch him on so many occasions. I can see how a serial single man would be freaked out by the sudden love and admiration that is thrust upon him, but he seemed to forget that his gigantor family was always on his side every step of the way and he wasn't alone in his issues...and wasn't the screw up that he thought he was. It makes my heart hurt that people might feel this way about themselves...so I was thinking about that some while I was thinking about Caleb. Everyone needs love.

I love their story and that the angsty parts are not so gutwrenching that you have to do yoga breathing to get through them.I also love seeing all of the previous couples pop in and a sneak peek at Matt--the next book in the series. Oh! And the dirty, steamy, sex scenes are H-O-T-ness. Have your spouse at the ready....whew! YES! That is a necessity...or a change or clothes...or be able to tolerate a cold shower. They steam up the sheets...but like Shel said...couples night out with all of the gang were pretty awesome too. The guys being embarrassed by their women not keeping anything sacred or secret from each other was hilarious. I love this group.

I actually had to stop reading about half way through the book simply because I was enjoying it so much that I didn't want it to end. Buy it...read it..enjoy it! I blew through it! I started it fishing with my husband and had to stop when it got dark...and no one was more surprised than me that I was already over halfway done! Good read and helped get me out of my book funk!
