REVIEW: SNAPPED BY KETLEY ALLISON

This series contains feelings after sex, good girls staying good (unless they don’t want to), good boys turning bad, great friends flipping sides, close lovers falling backwards, sassy mouths, stubborn jackasses, and a fight for the one, all in the name of f*cked up love.
But whose love is twisted?
In nine weeks Charlie Miller's life goes from high-rolling perfection to a crypt of sin. All it takes is one night, one blade, and her boyfriend, best friend and new friends all either end up as suspects or dead.

Nate Westcott, a pierced, tattooed, charismatic lawyer, is a man she can’t have—but a seductive danger she can’t ignore. He’s cocky, infuriating, brilliant and wrong, yet he makes her question whether she really is the good girl she wants to be or more like the selfish killer everyone thinks she is.

And her body wants him in ways she’s not supposed to crave.

As the weeks close in, cracks start forming in her everyday world of pro football golden boys, law school domination and New York City nightlife. Everyone she cares about is at risk because one of them doesn’t love Charlie back. In fact, they want her out of the way. Disposed of. Set up.

One more step, and all Charlie has to do is fall through.

Week 1 starts now.

WHO WILL SNAP?

Snapped is Ketley’s New Adult Novella series with all the romance you’d expect, but the killer—and lovers—that you don’t.

OUR REVIEW:

Shelley: You know what? Wow. This prologue grabbed my attention and just knowing that every word was guiding me to that scene, kept me turning pages. I was very eager to get to that stage--where I had answers to my questions; I actually STILL have questions because as I discovered this morning, this is book one (or part one) in a SEVEN-ish part series. You should know this going in so that you don't feel disappointed when the answers you seek aren't there at the end.

Courtney: <<<WOW>>>is FREAKING RIGHT! The prologue is what I expected from this new, what I think of as a romantic suspense novella series, and just wow, it is so much more. The journey that we begin, is so very well set up, the writing - just wow, and the characters are all ones that I want to love and root for...but I just don't know who is going to burn me later!!!

Shelley: This first book does a good job of establishing characters:

Shelley: Charlie--she's still a mystery to me but she's dating an NFL rookie, going to law school, determined to make her own path and has old and new friends whom I am beginning to question. On top of that, she's a smidge insecure about how the outside world is portraying her in the media and this begins to spill into her daily life-- this seems to be a continuing problem. She goes from not caring to feeling awful about what they're saying. Courtney: I can't imagine living that life, but I can't help so early on just wanting her to thrive and own it and become this powerful woman. And then I remember, oh yes...she's only like 22 or something, so why should she be at that stage in part one...oh right. She isn't. She won't be. And oh my, did you remember the prologue...remember that. Shizzzz!

Shelley: Slade is Char's super awesome boyfriend. (Except he seems too perfect and I'm wondering if he's as innocent as he seems?!). He's very supportive of Char's dreams and seems to be naive about the motives of others--either that or he let's roll off of his back very easily. Courtney: SLADE. First, the name. Love his nickname...and all around just love him. I want to know so badly if he is going to screw me for loving him later, but right now...love this guy! I am of the opinion right now he doesn't let a lot get to him, and that is awesome for her. How things change quickly in the timeline we know...0 - 9 weeks..just whew. Wild ride will commence immediately. Hands and feet inside the vehicle please.

Shelley: Lara + Reagan + Nate--The "friends"--Lara is Char's oldest friend. She's mouthy and sassy and bossy and seems to want only the best for Charlie. Reagan is a new friend and I don't know her well (NO ONE DOES) and I'm very suspicious about her. Nate is Reagan's brother and there seems to be an immediate "connection" between Charlie and Nate.  Courtney: I am not on team friends right now, and that is all I can say. Nate seems hot in all of his lawyery, pierced, and tatted yumminess...but...he sees Charlie for who she is, and ought to be IMO, so I am on Team-Nate-is-alright...for now..

Shelley: So as I said earlier, this book is just the set up. We begin to know the characters, and with the prologue in mind, everyone makes me suspicious. Courtney: Girrrrl, me too. This is perfect New Adult goodness, in slightly smaller packages. I love it. And I recommend for the price (99 cents a piece) you should jump on this band wagon with me because it is AWESOME. AND I CAN'T STOP SHOUTY-CAPSING ABOUT IT...JUST ASK SHEL!

About the Author

Ketley Allison began her career by writing books as birthday presents for her friends (with her friend as the main character and opposite a super sexy lead, of course) before ending it in order to walk down a path she thought she was supposed to follow.

The writing bug never left her--and, in fact, would often bleed into the official papers she was supposed to write--so now Ketley's putting down her suit and finally following her dream. While her friends are no longer the stars of her books, she still throws in bits and pieces of them into each and every one of her characters.

As a result, her books tend to focus a lot on friendships as well as love, because let's be honest, friends are what really get you through--especially when your epic love turns into epic heartbreak.
