REVIEW: Sweet Spot by Staci Hart

OUR REVIEW:

When Staci Hart publishes, I read it. Period. She has never let me down. Not ever. Sweet Spot continues that streak. In this newest addition to the Roseville Ramblers series, we get to learn more about why Grey is so grumpy and how, exactly, Molly breaks through.

This was fun, y'all. Molly is just so sweet and Grey is so broody and it shouldn't work but it does. It really, really does. These two cannot get enough of each other, even though Grey tries really hard to deny it, and so what we get is a novel full of these two exploring all of the things Molly wants Grey to teach her-from softball, to house stuff, to anything Molly's heart desires. And y'all, Molly has some desires. Hooooboy, this one is a steamfest. So steamy. So spicy. And yet, so sweet and cute and so very easy to read and adore these two, and really, all of the extended cast of characters.

Looking for a sweet and spicy spring break read? This one is the exact one you need.

SYNOPSIS:

I should absolutely, under no circumstance develop a crush on my co-worker--the grumpy, wolf-daddy, much older high school baseball coach.

First problem? He's twenty years older than me. Second? I've never even been kissed. Third? When I ask him to teach me, he said yes.

In my defense, Grey Brooks is a great coach. As an elementary school librarian, I know more about books than swinging hammers or baseball bats. I thought I was a lost cause, but from showing me how to throw a baseball to fixing up my rickety old house, all he does is teach me. And somewhere between the lessons and the laughter, we become friends. So asking him to teach me to kiss...etc, just makes sense. Right? Right?

He makes rules. Keep it casual. Keep it secret. Keep the feels in check.

But in a small town where everyone's watching, nothing stays secret for long. Every rule we break blurs the line between lessons and love, the rumors are getting louder, and Grey thinks he's going to ruin me.

He might be right. But not for the reasons he thinks.

Because there's more than gossip hiding in Roseville. And by the time I see the danger coming, the only person who can save me is the one everyone says I should stay away from.

REVIEW: Hot Shot by Staci Hart

OUR REVIEW:

We've been fans of Staci Hart since the wayyyy back times--the times of Hardcore and Hearts and Arrows and in every iteration of her work, we've found her to be a consistently good read. Whether we're cracking up at the hilarity of a situation or tearing up at the plight of a character, we can honestly say that we've always enjoyed her work. After a hiatus, she came back strong with a new series, Roseville Ramblers, and Hot Shot continues our fandom of Staci Hart's work and the worlds she builds. In this series we found ourselves in a small town in Tennessee and while there is that small time feel to it, it isn't rife with cliche after cliche; instead it just gives you this feel of comfort and familiarity while navigating the romance of Cass and Wilder. If you read the first book in this series, you'll recognize them both. You'll also recall that Wilder was in an interesting bind--how to tell Cass that they were still married?! Fortunately, you don't have to wait too long to see how he reveals that to her and just as quickly as she knows, a new and challenging conundrum arises. It's how they resolve this and the love that they really can't deny that takes up the vast majority of this novel and we think you're going to find it enormously pleasurable to read. Lots of fun, sexy, heartfelt moments that will have you turning the pages and smiling. And with the promise of our next couple in this series on the horizon, all we can do is hope that Staci Hart's fingers are flying across that keyboard.

Happy Reading!

SYNOPSIS:

Never thought I’d agree to a marriage of convenience to my hot, firefighter ex boyfriend.
Especially after he casually informs me we’ve been married for ten years.

Ten years ago, Wilder and I were so in love that we got married in Vegas for one night only before leaving for college on different sides of the world. He was supposed to mail the annulment papers.

Problem is, he didn’t.
Worse? He didn’t tell me.
Not even when I came back to town to marry another man.

But now he needs my help, and I can’t say no. All I have to do is have to pretend in front of the whole town like we’re married. Hold hands. Kiss. Not throw myself at him when he looks at me like I’m the only woman in the world.

My body might remember him, but the rest of me isn’t ready. Because I’m just learning how to find myself, and if I get wrapped up in Wilder’s world, I’ll lose more than my heart—I’ll lose everything.
Again.

REVIEW: Wild Card by Staci Hart

OUR REVIEW:

Staci Hart is baaaaack; thank the Lordt! And what a comeback! Wild Card is a delightful mix of humor and sexiness and sweet romance. We've got Remy, Mr. Hot Stuff, baseball player, smirking bartender and Jessa, Ms. Prim and Proper, British, Queen of snark...a match made in heaven. They get thrown together when his cousin's (aka her BFF) wedding takes over his small town and his rundown cottage is the last available space for her to stay. Day 1 shows us that their attraction to each other is instant and mutual and their snarky banter is going to be the absolute best. As the days go on and they get to know each other, it's easy to see how compatible they are. They're both kind and generous and a little lost, when it comes to their futures. With time to kill between wedding events, the conversations they have reveal things--his pushed aside dreams and her desire for a life beyond the social calendar her family wants her to abide. They also learn that they must keep their burgeoning romance a secret, as his cousin/her BFF has forbidden them to hook up. Fortunately for us, they can't seem to help themselves and they explore more than their personalities...that dryer scene!...lordy have mercy...the hotness...the filthy mouths...the chemistry...so hot.

All this to say that Remy and Jessa are the perfect match and the perfect comeback for Staci Hart.

SYNOPSIS:

The hot baseball player I’m forced to stay with for my best friend’s wedding is off limits.

Remy Winfield has more muscles than manners, and he’s on a mission to get me into bed by way of the filthiest mouth I’ve ever wanted to kiss. He doesn’t care about my long time crush or my certainty that we’re finally about to happen.

Remy's sure I’ll break first and kiss him, and he’ll tease me to the limit to make sure I do. I might be a Lady, but I can still play his dirty little game. It’s perfectly safe, totally harmless.

Until I fall for him.

Suddenly, Mr. Long-Time Crush doesn’t matter at all.

And my best friend can never know.

REVIEW: Run For Your Honey by Staci Hart

OUR REVIEW:

Staci Hart packs in a ton of sweet and funny in the last installment of the Blum sisters' series when both Poppy and Duke set goals of being the next mayor. In a series of run ins we get to know that Poppy and Duke were high school sweethearts until Duke left for school and things fell apart. Fast forward years later and he's baaaaaack with a ton of ambition and Poppy's target on his back. In their initial meetings, Poppy snarls and Duke feigns amusement, covering his lack of desire to hurt her, and you can't help but feel all the things--anticipation of things to come, hilarity at the dialogue, and curiosity about how things will end up. As things progress, Poppy becomes less snarly, Duke is more honest about some things, and even while they openly compete for the job of mayor, they find themselves secretly getting closer and closer. As you'd expect, some things happen that shake everything up but Staci Hart doesn't leave us hanging for long and we get the happily ever after that we wanted.

This series has been a delight. It's small town romance with all of the trappings of small town life--both the good and the bad. There's family and romance and laughter and all the happily ever afters you could want. If you haven't started the series, now's the perfect time to pick it up and escape into the world of the Blums.

Twelve years ago, my first and only love left town and never came back.
How dare he show up now, looking like that.
And? He’s running against me for mayor.
It’s unfair, him standing there, too tall and handsome for his own good. It’s audacious that his clothes accentuate every lean, strong curve of his body. It’s universal BS that his smile makes my heart flipflop, and it’s patently un-freaking-believable that my body would betray me when he turns that gorgeous smile on me.
I’ll do whatever it takes to win, and he knows it.
But when he kisses me, all bets are off.
If I win, he leaves.
If he wins, I lose.
And either way, he breaks my heart.

REVIEW: On the Honey Side by Staci Hart

OUR REVIEW:
This series has been such a bright light in some rather sobering times and each book seems to come at just the time when I need it the most. While each novel has the Staci Hart experience: humor + romance, they each have their own thing that makes them stand on their own. In On the Honey Side, the characters, Daisy and Keaton, have got to be two of the most deserving of a happily ever after. Both of them have had up close and personal experiences with loss and grief and they each have quietly taken on shouldering family responsibilities without an expectation, or seemingly a desire, for anyone else in the family to take them on. They're genuinely good people, trying to do good things for others, and generally putting themselves last. Thankfully, their siblings provide little nudges and dropped hints, and with a little of Daisy's quiet boldness, the sparks of their romance, quickly develop into flames. I liked that Daisy was more of the pursuer; it fit their narrative nicely. I also really liked that the major conflict that caused the strife and tension wasn't something between them but something outside of them.

This was exactly the sweet romcom that I needed and it has me looking forward to what will happen next, not only with Poppy, but with this small tightknit community.

No one can ever have Keaton Meyer.
Least of all me.
The brooding construction manager is a man of myth and legend, rarely seen in the wild. Once upon a time, he was the star quarterback, the smiling homecoming king, royalty in our small town. Until tragedy struck. And then he disappeared completely.
Now he’s resurfaced, and I can’t keep my eyes off him.
He’s an island surrounded by lava, bound by a desert and guarded by dragons. I don’t stand a sunshine’s chance in a hail storm.
Our siblings disagree and are out to prove it, nudging us into each other in the hopes we’ll fall. But with our town in tumult and the two of us firmly in the middle, nothing between us is easy. And when he’s faced with an impossible decision, I learn the truth of what I already knew.
No one can have Keaton Meyer.
And I have the broken heart to prove it.

"On the Honey Side is as heartwarming as it is hilarious. It blends the humor of matchmaking with the heat of a slow burn for a cocktail I can't resist and will beg for time and time again. Sweet, touching, and subtly steamy, it was the perfect romantic comedy to get lost in at the end of a hectic day. An easy five-star and must read of 2022!" - bestselling author Kandi Steiner

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
