Trophy Wife - About Book

TROPHY WIFE - EBOOK COVER

Everyone in Nashville knows Nathan Dumont. That’s what happens when you develop half a town and sleep with the rest. Five years ago, his fiancee disappeared. Last night, he proposed to me.
I had wanted to escape my life, the seedy strip club and the mountain of bills. I had seized the opportunity to live in a mansion, fill my days with country clubs and caviar, my nights with romance and sex.
Maybe I should have done my homework first.

The Trophy Wife is a standalone erotic romance. It is approximately 70,000 words. An earlier edition of this book was previously released in 2013 under the name The Dumont Diaries, this is an expanded and rewritten edition of that novel, with over 50 pages of new content.

2017 March Favorites

This last month has been a really stellar reading month and full of us starting or returning to duets or trilogies. Surprisingly, I've been enjoying the torture inflicted by the authors behind these, even though I'm not usually a huge fan of the cliffhanger or having to wait to read the next book. All of the novels that have another book or two after it have been so well written that I know it'll be well worth the wait for the next ones to come out. AND! It gives us something to look forward to.  As usual, if you see something that looks good, click on the image and it'll take you to Amazon.

Grip and Flow by Kennedy Ryan--Maybe the best thing Kennedy Ryan has written so far. It not only addresses issues of trust and love and relationships, it addresses issues of race in a way that readers are relating to. REVIEWS here.

Something In The Way by Jessica Hawkins--This novel was something we hadn't seen before with Jessica Hawkins and we were completely taken with this novel and her dedication to pacing this story just right for her characters. I can't even get into it without writing a novella, but I think it's best to say the relationships in this novel have reached the Facebook status of: COMPLICATED. REVIEW here.

American Prince by Sierra Simone--a modern, sexier version of Camelot? Yep and in the way that's truly Sierra Simone--so it's sexy and smart and has us hanging by a thread to see who does what to whom and how. REVIEW here.

The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott--We know we're going to read something that's character rich when it comes to Emma Scott's novels and this one not only gave us interesting characters but the whole premise felt really fresh.REVIEW here.

Dirty Souls by Karina Halle--Thankfully this book came as quickly as it came; the ending of the first book had my heart racing and conspiracy theories lining up in my head. I am so excited with the return to these characters and cannot wait to see who Halle sets her sights on next. REVIEW here.

Insight by Santino Hassell--This writer has, in a very short amount of time, become one of my automatic 1-click authors. I enjoy his characters and humor, grit, and the adventures he writes for them. This novel was something I don't normally gravitate towards and I'm so glad that I read it and took a chance. REVIEW here.

A Boy Like You by Ginger Scott--I fell in love with this young adult novel when it was still in the edits stage and I haven't stopped thinking it about it since. Joss and Wes and all of the mysteriousness surrounding them have captured my heart and attention. REVIEW here.

Normally I'd insert my attempts at wittiness or a rant here, but honestly, I'm wiped out. I haven't taken a day off all year and I'm 8 school days away from spring break and I'm barely making it. Enjoy your reading this month and maybe next month I'll have something great to say!

LIFT for Autism 2017!

2017_HeaderVersion
LIFT 4 Autism Online Auction: Monday, April 24 - Friday, April 28
Autism. A mystery to some. A way of life for others. A cause for all since it is now the fastest growing and most common disability in the US. 1 in every 68 children are diagnosed with Autism. Many of these kids will rely on their parents to some degree, depending on severity, all their lives, with estimated costs between 5 to 7 million dollars in services and care over their lifetime. Many of the services those living with Autism require are not covered by insurance. It is an expensive and difficult lifelong diagnosis to navigate. Authors Ginger Scott and Kennedy Ryan started LIFT 4 Autism a few years ago as a charitable initiative rallying the romance reading community in April, which is Autism Awareness/Acceptance month. All proceeds go to this year’s charitable partner Kulture City, who is doing amazing things for Autism families. Discover more about them at kulturecity.org. Specifically, LIFT will benefit Kulture City’s lifeBOKS program, which provides families with free kits to curtail wandering, a common and potentially life threatening challenge. Proceeds will also benefit Kulture City’s tablet program, which provides iPads to improve communication for non and limited verbal children on the spectrum to families who cannot afford them.

Review: Franco by Kim Holden

Buy the Book

Our Review

Shel: Maybe after Bright Side and Gus, Kim Holden must've known we needed something different, something lighter. Franco delivers on that; while there are some definite moments that caused me a little worry, I laughed and smiled more than anything. If Bright Side and Gus were soul searching, Franco was soul healing. Court: I think you're right, Shel. After the first two...we had no idea what this member of the band would bring us. I was really, really, really ready to cry is about all i do know. Franco is such a great guy, and he is an absolute delight to read, so I don't know why I was so worried!

Shel: I enjoyed everything about the character of Franco--his general outlook on life, his care and humor, and how attuned he was to his friends. I also loved how he was with Gemma and how respectful he was of her feelings and her career and the circumstances they found themselves in. Court: He is an ultimate book boyfriend because of how awesome he was with her wasn't he! I absolutely enjoyed their "one night to friends to maybe more"journey, and was nervous every time they were apart. I mean...California to England is a BIG long distance relationship, so I never really knew how the book would turn out. And I liked that. I liked how much a role Gus played in the book, because sometimes when we have best friends the books block them out a little bit for the story development between the lovers, and I loved how much he was there with Franco and they truly were best friends. That was almost as great for me as Franco and Gemma getting to know each other! (What can I say...I'm a lead singer girl, and Gus is ah-mazing)

Shel: All in all, a really great "feel good" novel that just made me fall even more in love with this series and the members of the band. Court: YES! I am excited to see if the other two get their books, because they really could go in just about ANY direction because tbh, we don't really know a whole lot about what these two get up to in the books. A whole new world awaits us if we get them though, and I can't wait!

About the Book

Franco Genovese is the drummer for world renowned American rock band, Rook. He’s got it all. A killer smile. Tattoos. Talent. Razor sharp wit and humor. And a heart as big, and generous, as they come.
Life is good. Steady. Uncomplicated. Just the way he likes things.
Until one night at an unassuming L.A. bar changes everything.
Enter Gemma Hendricks.
She’s a successful young architect from Northern England with an adorable smile, sarcasm for days, and an unparalleled trusting heart.
The attraction is instant.
So is their friendship.
It’s also temporary because they’ll both be heading home, thousands of miles apart from each other, in a few days.
Or is it?
There’s something Gemma wants more than anything else.
And when Franco propositions her to provide what she’s looking for, everything changes.
Will it transform friendship into love, or will it be their ruin?

(Note from the author: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is recommended for mature audiences.)

Author Bio

Born on the mystical day of October 30th in the not so mystical lands of Mexico City, Claudia grew up with a childhood that resembled a caffeine-injected soap opera. Seventeen years ago she ventured to the lands of her techie husband—a.k.a. the U.S.—with their offspring to start a new adventure.

She now lives in Colorado working for a small IT company, managing her household filled with three confused dogs, said nerd husband, two daughters wrought with fandoms and a son who thinks he’s the boss of the house. To survive she works continually to find purpose for the voices flitting through her head, plus she consumes high quantities of chocolate to keep the last threads of sanity intact.
