NEW REVIEW: The Good GIrl by Nikki Sloane

She's ready to be naughty.

The Good Girl by Nikki Sloane is now live!

What are you supposed to do when your best friend's little sister—a classic good girl—asks you to help her go bad?

You should say no.

You shouldn't pretend to date her so she can piss off her parents.

You definitely shouldn't agree to take her virginity and show her all the experiences she's been missing out on.

And you really shouldn't keep it a secret from her brother, the one who's your best friend and business partner.

But I don't always make the best choices. In fact, I can be kind of a dick sometimes.

And I know if I don't do it, someone else will . . . and I can't have that. If anything, it means I get to be the good guy for once.

I just wasn't prepared for how gifted this good girl would be at going bad.

OUR REVIEW:

This series just gets hotter and hotter. In the latest book in the Nashville Neighborhood series, we finally get Preston's book. He's been hovering in the background for a while and it was interesting to get into his head, especially when it concerns a certain friend's little sister....ahh how the mighty fall. Mr. Hook-Up finally finds the girl he can't seem to stay away from, even if it means potentially ruining a friendship and maybe even his business. And Sydney? Well, she can't resist the opportunity to get to know the person she's been crushing on for a long time.

In alternating viewpoints we watch them really get to know each other, try to resist each other, and fall for each other, all under the guise of teaching Sydney lessons of an intimate nature. This one is a quick and fun read. Go get it.

REVIEW: The Frat Boy by Nikki Sloane

OUR REVIEW:

Oooookay, Nikki Sloane, I see you. I see you amping up the steam in every book in this series and omg, we are all winners in this. Seriously, I think this is the hottest book in the series and that's saying a lot considering the steamy sexy times in the previous novels.

In The Frat Boy, we get to know Madison and her antagonist, Colin. From their first meeting they're at each other's throats, which just amps up the tension between them and makes their story that much more fun to read. Because of the fall out of a cheating incident at a Greek competition, these two end up being ousted from their houses and without any family support, must find a place to live and a way to pay for it. Enter Nina and Scott (from It Takes Two) and their burgeoning adult film business. Madison and Colin sign on as their two newest stars and the scenes they end up 'acting' out are really really hot. Because of their close proximity and new jobs, their animosity evolves into a grudging respect and then friendship and true lovers. As things evolve, we learn why they have to be so independent and we also learn that their new jobs aren't things they find particularly shameful.

I really enjoyed Colin and Madison and their story. I liked that Nikki Sloane didn't make sex work a shameful thing, and while I'm certain there were romanticized parts, she took adult films out of the shadows of shame and showed what body positivity and sex positivity could look like. This was a fun, sexy, sweet read and I'm wondering if we have at least one more 'neighbor' to get to know in this series.

The Frat Boy by Nikki Sloane is now live!

Colin Novak is the big man on campus. Huge—if the rumors are to be believed. Nearly every girl at Davidson University has had a ride on him . . . everyone, except me.

Which is fine. This frat boy may be irritatingly hot, all carved muscle with a deceptively wholesome smile, but that's irrelevant. He's a Sig.

When I catch his fraternity cheating at the Greek Week tournament, he denies it--causing our rivalry between houses to escalate. Colin and I may have started the mud fight, but it grows into an all-out war, and ends with us expelled from our houses.

Now I'm homeless and it's all his fault.

So, while answering an ad for a leading role at an adult film company wasn't part of my career path, the work comes with a lot of perks. Steady salary. Accommodations close to campus. A safe place to explore my fantasies.

Except when I show up for my audition, my partner is none other than my new archenemy—Colin. And our sexual chemistry is explosive.

We hate how attracted we are to each other, and I despise that I want every scene to be with him. Because the longer we live together, the more I see he's not who I thought he was.
This frat boy was so easy to hate . . . but what if he's even easier to love?

REVIEW: The Temptation by Nikki Sloane

OUR REVIEW:

I've been so curious about Vance since I first got to know him in Royce and Marist's trilogy and his story in The Temptation did not disappoint. Vance was just as interesting as I hoped he would be; he had this mix of insecurity and bold confidence that made me want to know him more. He was also richer than god and knew how to spoil his girl--I mean what a fantasy.

Emery was a great counterpart to Vance. She was focused and spunky and always seemed to know when to hold back and when to step up--she was the epitome of fake it until you make it and did so so seamlessly that she blended right into the community of the filthy rich that Vance inhabits. Her background was unusual--I don't think I've ever 'met' a female safe cracker in a novel and as her motives became more clear, I liked her more and more.

So you have these two fun characters and then you have Nikki Sloane throw all sorts of hurdles--fake relationship, 90 days of abstinence (!!!), a missing friend, and family drama--and when you put it all together, it works. You find yourself unable to stop reading because...will they make it through the 90 days? will we get to the bottom of the friend? will there be any resolution to the family stuff?!! I joyfully devoured The Temptation and am selfishly hoping there's some way to get more out of this series.

The Temptation by Nikki Sloane is now live!

Vance Hale has everything. A ridiculous amount of money, an Ivy-league education, and a 1,000-watt smile that can charm the designer dress right off a girl.

He’s also going to have a future that includes me—whether he wants it or not.

I don’t care that he’s trying to reform his playboy ways, or that he made a bet to go 90 days without the touch of a woman. I’ve spent the last decade planning my revenge and I need a partner in crime. This gorgeous, cunning man should do fine.

So, we strike a deal. I’ll help get him across the finish line and he’ll bring me into his world among the Cape Hill elite. Our relationship may be fake, but our chemistry is shockingly real. One innocent kiss and I’m struggling to hold up my end of the bargain.

Wanting him wasn’t part of the plan when everything else I desire is within my grasp. The only problem? Neither of us is any good at resisting temptation.

NEW REVIEW: The Architect by Nikki Sloane

OUR REVIEW:

Lord have mercy The Architect is H-O-T, HOT, hot! It's not that the hotness was unexpected because HELLO! it's Nikki Sloane but I don't think I was prepared. Lol. In the previous two novels in this series the sexy times were hot but she just took it to the next level with The Architect.

As noted by the blurb, this novel features a unique relationship--two people who are admittedly relationship-phobic but down for a sexual relationship with a burgeoning friendship using a surrogate for Clay when Clay is out of town. I don't think I've read anything quite like it and honestly, if I'd known that this is what was going down in the novel I would've been intrigued but skeptical and yet this threesome totally worked. While it's obviously an erotic novel, the story wasn't just sex--the connections and relationships formed between Clay, Travis, and Lilith and the conundrums they found themselves in kept the pages flying and had my full attention. I enjoyed how Sloane handled all aspects of this unconventional romance--from the set up, the "scenes", and the way they identified their relationship in public--it was something I didn't expect and really enjoyed.

If you are a Nikki Sloane fan, I know you're going to enjoy this new novel; it's hotter than hell and heartmeltingly sweet.

He's drafting plans to seduce you.

The Architect by Nikki Sloane is now live!

On the surface, my new boyfriend is a stiff, buttoned-up architect. He plans every detail of his life while carefully maintaining the walls he's built around his heart. But when the biggest project of his career pulls him away, Clay's solution is both temporary and unconventional. It even comes with a name--Travis.

This handsome stranger is sweet and thoughtful. He's only meant to be a stand-in, to fulfill my sexual needs under Clay's watchful direction, yet these two men couldn't be more different. The one thing they share? Well, I guess that would be me.

One gets off on my pain, the other on my pleasure, and it awakens a desire none of us knew existed. But it can't last.

Eventually I'll have to choose.

And it's going to destroy us all.

REVIEW: The Pool Boy by Nikki Sloane

OUR REVIEW:

If you know anything about Nikki Sloane's previous books you have to take one look at the title and the cover and know that this book is going to be hotter than hot. SPOILER ALERT: it is. Gah. The other thing fans of her work know is that the hotness is just part of it--it's the story that just pulls you in and keeps you coming back for everything she writes.

In the case of The Pool Boy, it's really the story of Erika that initially grabbed me. Her burgeoning confidence and confrontation of flaws was refreshing and my favorite thing? Her age. So many times an age gap story line is about an older man and a younger woman. Heck, even in the real world the scandal is less with the older man/younger woman than with the older woman/younger man and it's just so ridiculous and dumb. As long as you're two consenting adults, who cares? WHO CARES?!!! Gah. But it's this stigma and fear of scandal that drives a large part of the emotional conflicts of Erika. It's real and the way that it's handled is just so well done. As much as I appreciate Erika's story arc, I really loved how Troy was written. He was the perfect mate for her and if I had my magic fairy wand, I would have loved for Nikki Sloane to add more chapters to see how things are going for them--I am imagining all sorts of HEAs for them, in addition to the one they were given.

One final thing--when I was reading, I initially thought the neighbor and their story was a reference to Katee Robert's delightfully naughty Your Dad Will Do (if you haven't read it and you liked The Pool Boy, you definitely should read it!). But I was wrong. Somehow, someway, I never read Nikki Sloane's The Doctor. The neighbor's story is actually told in that one and you better believe, I'm buying and reading that next! And I'm super excited to see they'll be a third novel in this series of stand alones--can't wait to see who's next!

So to sum up, if you're looking for a quick, hot af, age gap read with a lot of heart this is definitely the novel for you.

You're going to get wet...

The Pool Boy by Nikki Sloane is now live!

Nothing says happy birthday like catching your husband in a compromising position with his boss.

His male boss.

Why, hello, midlife crisis. I'm starting over, but this time I'm doing it right. Or at least I'm doing what I want.

Taking the day off from work to hang out poolside? Yup. Do I leave the swimsuit in my house? Sure.

Does my very hot, twenty-something pool boy happen to catch me naked? Oh, yeah, he does. And he likes what he sees... a lot.

My best friend keeps telling me to have a fling and get back out there. But I'm not so sure she meant for me to do it with her son.

Excerpt

Troy Osbourne came once a week to service both my pool and the freestanding spa. I’d hired him last year to handle closing and covering the pool for the winter, then reopening it for me last month, and his weekly visits that followed had kept the water crystal clear and the pH perfectly balanced.

My pool had never looked so good.

But Troy always came when I was at work and let himself in through the gate at the side of my fence, so I had completely forgotten his schedule. He must have gone behind the pool house and inside to fetch his supplies, and when he’d rounded the corner and discovered me topless, he’d dropped everything in his arms.

Including the long pole with the net on the end.

It was as if someone had put their foot down on the sustain pedal of a piano, only this piano played the music of time, and the moment suspended with my long, drawn out gasp.

I was topless, and he was frozen, and holy shit, he was my best friend’s twenty-four-year-old son.

It burst from my lips in horror. “Oh, fuck!”

In my panic, I grasped at my towel to cover myself, only to struggle, hopelessly, since it was pinned beneath my body. I leapt to my feet and yanked the terrycloth up, pressing it over my naked chest.

Troy still hadn’t moved. His lips were open, as if he’d planned to say something, but now he was frozen and unable to do anything. I couldn’t see his eyes behind his mirrored Aviator sunglasses, but he didn’t seem to be breathing.

So, I did what any reasonable woman would when a gorgeous, almost-stranger caught her naked.

I ran.
