A friends to lovers romcom

OUR REVIEW:

One Big Mistake is a warm contemporary romance. The characters, Navy and Keane are relatable and may even remind you of friends you already know. Their friendship morphing into a relationship showcased many of the worries I know many people in similar situations have felt and had to figure out and it’s what I think makes this particular novel one that you don’t want to stop reading because you want to see how they end up working through it all. I appreciated that Whitney Barbetti didn’t make their angsty bits too dramatic or over the top-what they struggled with felt real and natural to their character and plight. If anything, it was the secondary characters and the stresses and strains that they added to the story that gave me anxiety and concern and it’ll be very interesting to see how Barbetti resolves their individual conflicts. I have at least one theory (about Violet) and I’m eager to see if I’m right.

Looking for a sweet, realistic friends to lovers read? This is it.

Blurb:
One night together could ruin everything...

Keane Colburn was my best friend. Ever since childhood, we could always count on each other to be there no matter what—though when I confessed my love to him, things didn’t turn out as planned. Thankfully, my little crush didn’t ruin our friendship. I shoved those feelings to the back of my mind, watching him chase after other girls and silently wishing it was me. I resigned us to friendship—that was more important than anything else. But a drunken one-night stand changed everything. Because even though we vowed to forget about it, I couldn’t get it out of my head. And as old memories began to rise to the surface, our lives collided in ways we had never imagined.
