BLURB:
Andrew Harper grew up in a house marked by tragedy. His older brother Owen did his best to shelter him, but you can only be protected from life’s pain for so long. Eventually, you end up just feeling numb…and isolated.

Loneliness was the one constant in Andrew’s life. Until one girl, met by chance in a high school hallway, changed everything. Emma Burke was a mystery and all that was beautiful in this world, the only air Andrew ever wanted to breathe. She took the lonely away, and filled it with hope and color, and Andrew would do anything to keep her safe, happy and whole.

But sometimes, what feels good and right is what ends up hurting us the most. And when Andrew and Emma are faced with an impossible decision, Andrew is tested to see just how far he’s willing to go for the girl who owns his heart.

Cuts are deep.

Scars are left behind.

And revenge beckons.

When Andrew finally gets his chance, in college, five years after his first love broke him completely, he finds out old feelings don’t really disappear just because you say you hate someone. The more he tries to avenge all that he believes he lost, the more he uncovers the real story of what happened years before.

Love is wicked. But a restless heart is never satisfied beating on its own. Can Andrew and Emma make it right before it's too late, or will the ties that bind them now destroy their only chance at a future?

OUR REVIEW:

Shel: I was so curious about Andrew after book one in this series and at first he was exactly I thought he would be..maybe even sweeter...maybe even more observant than I gave him credit for. Then THE THING happens and dude...DUUUUDE, Ginger did NOT hold back. She put Andrew and Emma through the ringer.  Court: I found myself wondering where this one would go, also. It started so sweet. And I thought...well, we're pretty early. Surely a happily ever after can't come at 14%....well, hold onto your knickers, because Ginger shocked the hell out of me with her twist!
Shel: Andrew turned into this angry, hurt young man (within reason) and I ached for him; I truly felt why he was so angry and actually applauded some of his anger (is that so wrong ?!). Ginger really had me buy into his plight until more of Emma's story came to light and then, well...it got more complicated for me. Suddenly I found myself feeling for them both (except for the times she was stubborn and made decisions that were well meaning but really so dishonest to everyone, especially herself, and those times I had a harder time feeling the love for her).

Court: As the pages went on, and I was dying...crying...and so in awe of this book, and the unexpectedness of how things played out from the past that we were given a scene from...then to part II where Andrew and Emma are so lost in the past, that things in the present get very crazy. They made me work for it, and I stayed up entirely too late because of it...but it was a beautiful book that is probably my favorite Ginger Scott book ever. She slayed me!

Shel: This novel reminded me of how much I love Ginger's YA books. She really knows how to capture those angsty teenage years with all of the love and pain that goes with them. Wicked Restless was a slight shift away from some of her sweeter novels and I liked that she made this one a little darker, making us feel things a little sharper, and kept me turning the pages to see how these two would ever find their happily ever after. Court: It was so much grittier for certain, and I loved these characters a lot. I loved them even more than Owen and I thought that was impossible. I feel excited, and helped out of the rut that I was in there for a bit with my reading. Thanks Ginger for giving us characters we can love, and writing that is flawless. I loved every single page. 5 million stars, for Wicked Reckless, if that option existed.
