You know, the Drazens are where it all started for us and our C.D. Reiss love affair and here we are again, with another Drazen story. It's been a while, or so it seems, and being back in their world again makes me want to deep dive all the way to the very beginning--to Beg.
In Margie's book, Secret Sins, I was surprised at how much melancholy I felt running through it. In other Drazen books I've been dazzled by the angst and twists and high drama and sex so I think I thought this novel would fall into a similar path; and sure, it has all of the things the other novels have, it also has this tinge of melancholy.
I liked it. I liked that Margie is so fiesty and messed up and that all the 80s and 90s references are accurate and throw me in the way back machine. I like the way the story bounces between the two time frames while also building to that intense chapter. And I really like that the next book is coming our way soon.
