REVIEW: Bad Boy Brody by Tijan

Shel: This is my 2nd Tijan novel and it was very different than the previous one I read, which is good, right? It makes me wonder if all of her novels do something a little unexpected. From the synopsis, I think I thought this would be the Hollywood/unknown trope and so I thought I'd have a feel for how it would work, but it really wasn't what I expected. Court: ME EITHER! I had no idea what would be coming, and I am wowed. It was a breath of fresh air but at the same time the same Tijan that I know and love.

Shel: Yes, Brody is a bad boy-ish. Court: Layers like an onion.

Shel: And yes, Morgan is completely untouched by the Hollywood scene. Completely untouched Court: I am amazed by her story.

Shel: But the novel had many more unexpected character elements and a plot that had more surprising moments that I anticipated, and it's that unexpectedness that has me curious about Tijan's books.

Shel: It's angsty but it's not.
Expected and not.
Sexy and tender.
And such a sense of longing.
...And a bit of work to get to that HEA and then a super fast paced ending once we got there. I think fans of Tijan will really enjoy this latest new release!

Court: I 100% agree. Not only is there layers to Brody, but there are so many layers to this story that are unexpected and well written that I stayed up way too late reading this book! I loved Morgan and Shiloh and her siblings and how much I didn't want this story to end.

SYNOPSIS:

One punch took him from Hollywood’s Golden Boy to Bad Boy Brody.

The media didn’t care he was grieving his brother’s death. They descended on him, but to change his reputation, his manager got him a deal.

Act in an indie film, one that already had Oscar buzz, and he’d get the movie roles he needed to secure his future.

He took the deal.

Yet he wasn’t prepared for the real-life people behind the script.

He wasn’t prepared for the murder the movie was based on.

And he really wasn’t prepared for her, the biggest secret of all.

She was wild. She was beautiful. She defied gravity.

But was she the leading role that would tame him?
