BOOK TRAILER RELEASE & GIVEAWAY: TAKE TWO BY LAURELIN PAIGE

Book Title: Take Two
Author: Laurelin Paige
Release DateFebruary 4, 2014
Publisher: Samhain Publishing
Summary: He’s ready for his close up, but she’s the one calling the shots.

On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.

Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And she’s one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another tryst…if he even remembers her.

Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad he’s sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likes—and oh, he does like—but anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesn’t stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.

But as the shoot nears its end, it’s decision time. Is it time to call, “Cut!” on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?

Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.

About Laurelin: Laurelin Paige is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.

Excerpt
I was lost in thought when my phone started to vibrate. You could hear the loud vibrations as it rattled in my hand. "Crap," I nearly jumped out of my skin. It was a text from Moon. I don't know if I opened it because it was just habit, or if it was because I wanted to see what he had to say. Either way, I may regret the decision.
Moon-Do you remember that day we met as kids? I have been thinking about it all day. That was the day that I met my best friend. Tell me you are still my best friend. I miss you and I don't understand what I did. I lost my dad and my best girl all in one day. I am such a damn mess, Shine! I need you and I know that you need me. Please! If I were there I would kiss you like I always do and tell you it will be okay! I read the message twice before another one followed quickly behind it. Moon- I gotta go help momma now, but I am not giving up on you. Know that when I look at the stars tonight I will think of you. You have to come back to me Shine. I need you. The tears flowed freely from my eyes. I swear, that damn boy. Geez, I love him so much that it hurts.

Excerpt:
Brad exhaled, his hands clasped before him, the collar on his tux scratchy. Finally. Fourteen months after she had walked into his office. Thirteen months after she had broken in and stolen his heart. The year-long engagement had dragged on, punctuated by empty nights where she stayed at her house, nights he realized how much he wanted and needed her to be his wife. He felt lost without her – incomplete, like he was missing out on something incredible. She had become, in those twelve months, his best friend as well as soul mate, the power of their relationship terrifying in its perfection. And now, finally, he would have security. Would have the strength of their marriage. A message to his family and to the world that they were, and always would be, together. Chords of music began, the orchestra gradually joining in, bit by bit, until the entire ensemble was participating, their notes rising in a strong crescendo. His heart swelled along with the music and he smiled despite himself, a burst of relief that they had reached this day.
The doors opened and the wedding procession began, Julia’s mother entering to tones of Bach.
Had Brad paid any attention during the procession, he would have noticed the tight faces of the women, their hands clenched around their bouquets, worried glances flitting from one bridesmaid to the next. But he didn’t pay attention to them. He stared, fixated on the large arched entrance, and waited. Waited for Lohengrin’s March to begin and for the love of his life to appear.
He worked through the processional schedule in his mind, trying to sort through how many more individuals would walk through that arch before Julia. It had to be soon, her mother and bridesmaids making the slow walk. His palms sweated as he stared at the space, waited with an excited smile, for her to appear. A small blond appeared, Catalina, his niece, throwing petals into the air with happy abandon, a small tuxedoed boy at her side. The presence of Catalina indicated to him that Julia was next, rose petals an indication of her pending arrival.
The music changed, familiar notes beginning, the announcement of the bride. The audience turned as one, a hushed silence falling over the room. He attempted to breath slowly, attempted a calm veneer, but was beaming despite himself. This was one of those moments that defines a life, one of the few moments in his life where he was certain he was in the right place, at the right time.
The music continued, the audience waited. And waited. Strands floating through the air, the rise and fall of notes sweet and perfect in their promise. There was uneasy movement through the audience, heads turning, voices whispering. Then the notes ended, silence fell, the doorway remained empty, and Brad’s world ended.
Silence. It is often the worst sound in the world.

Synopsis
Kaiya Marlow has always been cautious, precise in every decision she makes. When her dark past threatens to resurface, she decides to take precautions to protect herself by enrolling in self-defense classes at her gym. Her instructor, Ryker Campbell, is the tattooed womanizer everyone warns about. Kaiya deliberately avoids Ryker outside of their classes together, but the more time they spend training together, the harder it is for Kaiya to resist him. Ryker's view on relationships is simple: strictly sex, nothing more. Haunted by demons from his past, he never allows himself to become attached to any woman. No attachment means no weakness, no vulnerability, no pain. He doesn't realize that his whole world is about to be turned upside down when the stunning Kaiya enters his self-defense class. Determined to have her, at least for one night, Ryker sets a plan into motion that will change both of their lives forever. Will love be able to heal their scars, or will they be too deep to overcome?
Excerpt
My arms wrapped around her waist, lifting her to where her toes barely touched the ground. My hands began to roam lower, and I knew if we didn't stop, I was going to end up taking her right there on the mat like our first time. The problem was that there were still people in the gym, unlike before when we were the only two there.
Breaking away, I set my forehead against hers as I said, “If we don't stop, I'm going to take you right here, right now.”
Reconnecting our lips, she whimpered with desire, “I need you.”
Fuck me. There was no way that I could say no to that. Picking her up, her legs wrapped around my waist as our mouths collided. I walked towards the door before fumbling with the handle and locking it, then headed to the closet.
Kicking the door closed, I maneuvered around most of the boxes and equipment inside before positioning us against one of the bags that lined the walls. No one should find us, unless one of the other employees happened to come in for some reason, but I really didn't give a fuck at the moment—I had to have her.
As I moved her shorts and panties to the side, she grabbed my cock and pulled it out, eager for me to enter her. Guiding me to her, her hands placed my head at her opening, which was already wet with her arousal for me.
Slowly, I pushed myself inside her, gradually filling her until her pussy surrounded my length. We groaned in unison as I began to roughly pound her against the bag, grasping her hips for deeper penetration.
My mouth found Kaiya's neck as she continuously moaned, her cries of pleasure becoming louder and louder with each of my thrusts. Savoring her skin, I began to push her shirt up, needing to feel her flesh against mine. Kaiya maneuvered to help me remove her top before taking off her sports bra, letting it fall to floor.
My shirt was added to the pile as Kaiya eagerly pulled it off. Her hands roamed over my shoulders and arms as my mouth claimed her breast, my tongue ring flicking over her hardened nipple. She arched against me as I moved to her other tit, sucking it deep into my mouth.
Wrapping her legs tighter around me, she forced my dick deeper inside her sex. Growling my approval, I thrust harder as her nails dug into my biceps and her head tipped back against the bag.
“Ryker?” a voice called out from outside the door. Shit.

REVIEW: ADAM'S BOYS BY ANNA CLIFTON

For fans of Kat Martin and Debbie Macomber comes a story of family and redemption...

Wrong girl — wrong time? Adam’s fling with Abbie just weeks after the death of his wife may have been all wrong, but their time together gave him the strength to return home to his newborn son, Pete, and start their new life together.

Wrong guy — wrong time? Abbie's fling with Adam may have been all wrong, but their time together gave her Henry, the sunshine in her life, and although Adam is long gone, Abbie can never regret the time they spent together.

But two wrongs don't necessarily make a right. Adam Cooper is back, and when he learns the truth about his unknown son, he is hell-bent on creating a home and family for his boys, even if it means blackmailing Abbie into taking part.
Abbie has scars from her own tumultuous childhood, and losing Henry would destroy her. But with only mistrust and pain to bind them, can she and Adam ever find a way through regret to love and the family they could be?

Our Review---
Netgalley brought this gem to our attention and now I'm happy to bring it to yours! We've read several novellas in the past week and some have been really good and this is definitely one that is REALLY GOOD. :) yeah! And I love the cover! Love it!

Adam and Abbie had a fling. He leaves and she ends up knocked up. Almost 5 years later work brings Adam back to Australia (from England) where Abbie reveals that he has another son (he has a son with his now deceased wife). You can imagine the shock he feels from the news. You can imagine the fear Abbie feels at revealing this news so late in the game.

I felt for Abbie but less than Adam because she had kept that secret for a long time, yes...but she made that decision. I felt so sorry for Adam just reading the blurb because he is half a world away from a child he doesn't know about. The circumstances are messy, so it was easy to get sucked into the story right away!

Honestly, this story could've gone so many ways. Adam could've handled the news way differently than he did. Abbie could've reacted to his shock differently too...but all in all, I think they handled it pretty damn well, considering. While there were definite moments of anger, bitterness, sadness, and worry, there were also refreshingly candid and sweet moments. If only all people who brought children in the world could handle issues with the care that these two did (once they got past the initial deceit, that is), we'd definitely have a happier world. The conundrum for these two is how to move forward with their sons in a way that is good for all parties involved. They figure some things out...it gets messy..but a resolution is definitely found by the end.

Totally. The boys were probably the funnest part for me. Henry and Peter are young boys but they did give a lot more life to the story than I think even their parents are able to. Communication is the killer again for these two, and isn't it so funny how things start working out when people start talking to one another in an open way? So. Funny.

For a short novel, the story is well thought out and doesn't feel rushed or skimpy on details. I love how it ends--it just feels 'right'. I do have to say I wish there would have been a little more detail on their time together in the before he left, instead of it just being referred to. Yeah, that is my biggest deal with what was missing for me. Other than that...I'm glad it didn't drag on forever, and was the perfect length for the after portion on if they'll find their way back to one another!
