Our Review:
I've really enjoyed this series and I'm sad to see it go. The banter between the players is hysterical and the scenes on the field and when they're "at work" give it that sense that you're peeking behind the curtain and seeing a behind the scenes look at what it's like when they're not on the field--a fictional look, but still lends that extra added oomph to an already fun novel. In 4th and Girl, not only do we have the fun banter between players, but we also get the hilarious Alma, the funny meet cute with Leo and Gemma, the omnipresent Abby, and the sweetest romance in the series. Seriously, Leo is to die for --Max Monroe hit all the hot points: football player, intelligence, and a scene with sweatpants and glasses annnd he knows how to have fun?!?!?! Gahhh. And Gemma matches him with all that and more. I honestly had my doubts about how they were going to write a conflict for these two because they were so dang nice, but never fear, where there is a will, there is a way and there was a conflict that made me want to face palm one of these characters. Fortunately, the ending more than made up for the conflict and an HEA was had by all.
If you're hoping for a meaty, emotional roller coaster, this is not the book for you. This is a lighthearted, quick and easy read--perfect for a day when you want to escape into something that's not heavy, maybe even for after you've read one of those heavy, heartbreaking reads. 4th and Girl will make you smile and melt at the sweetness of Leo and Gemma.
4th and Girl is the last in series and while we're sad to see these characters go, we hope they'll pop up in some of the most unexpected places.
