OUR REVIEW:

Shel: Hot Cop came on the heels of a dark and series read and gave me the light, funny, sexy read that I seriously needed; it's the type of book you take on the beach or to the pool or you snuggle up with on a rainy day--it's a fun escape that doesn't require anything other than you sit back and enjoy. Court:   And it is sooooo goooooood! The beginning will hook you right in with Livia, Ryan and Chase's interaction (creative and original beginning y'all). I enjoyed it so much, and was so excited for what was to come.

Shel: In Hot Cop both characters, Livia Ward and Chase Kelly, contribute to the humor with not only their banter but their inner monologues. Chase and his trio (lol!) and his room (I laughed so hard) or Livia and pretty much everything that she says or thinks when she gets Chase on the brain kept me laughing all day--I'm still smiling as I'm writing this review. They both, also, had a little growing up to do and to me this is what added depth to an otherwise lighthearted read. Livia was hung up on her age and her inability to trust men (although to be fair she didn't really trust Megan all that much, in that she didn't share a lot with her) and Chase was hung up on an idea that his job would make him an unfit partner, so between the two of them they had some work to do to find their HEA. As much fun as I had with this novel, and there was a lot of it, these characters also made me a little nuts. Livia kinda drove me a little crazy with her stubborn refusal to let Chase in--the more I got to know him, I could not understand why she couldn't get past her past and if there was anything that I'd nitpick it'd be that I didn't know enough about her or her past to make her mistrust him--so I didn't always *get* why she was in so much angst; I guess I got it in theory but it just didn't quite understand her reticence. Out of the two characters I really liked how rounded out Chase was--even with his silly arrogance I found him adorable and sensitive and sweet and his reticence to let go of his bachelorhood was also so stubborn on his part, I felt I better understood where he was coming from.  Court: I tend to agree with you girl. I really enjoyed every bit of Chase. His looks, his way with his family...and I think he is the typical early 30's guy who is enjoying life but not looking for anything serious. Which I love in a sense of I can't wait for him to fall head over heels just because he thinks it'll never ever in a million years happen. Livia has so much going for her, and she has her mind made up about so many things that you kind of get whip lashed by her a bit just because it is a surprise she's the one that isn't going to ever fall in love. It was hard to know her I think because we related to so much about her (the library, the books, how caring she seems in general) that it was a surprise that she was the one who was such a hard sell for things to progress. I loved it as much as I hated it.

Shel: As with anything we read by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone, these women know how to write some of the sexiest sex scenes (please never stop!). Chase has dirty talking down to an art form and I guarantee he's going to be melting panties and becoming the newest book boyfriend for many people out there. He's a hot one. Livia's quiet confidence and her sometimes shyness, at the beginning, is a nice counterpoint to his more outgoing and assertive sex appeal. These two sizzle on the page, when they aren't cracking me up. I really think you're going to enjoy this couple! Court: Yes! They're funny, they're fun and yes they are indeed sexy, sexy, sexy. I think the Hot Cop title couldn't have been more perfect. There are some serious moments, and even more funny ones that really progress the plot along beautifully and really makes it an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for these two to write more together because we know for sure we'll love it!

Shel: Hot Cop is a great summer read; it's sexy and funny and light and we are eager to see what the writing team of Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone writes next. Court: I have to say that a few times my number one scene stealer is Pops! Dating advice, galore!

If you have trouble...don't worry, I'm a bit of an expert in that department.
There's nothing 'thin' about my blue line, if you catch my drift, and trust me, I know how to put those handcuffs to good use.
***
Livia Ward wants a baby before she’s thirty. And even though Officer Chase Kelly is exactly the kind of cocky jerk this librarian has sworn off, he is undeniably hot. Both of them think they can give each other what they want--a few nights of fun for Officer Kelly, a no-strings baby for Livia--but this hot cop is about to learn that sex, babies, and love don’t always play by the rules.

About Laurelin:

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She's also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn't do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.
